MoE Receives 173 Units Laptop to Support Online Learning

The Ministry of Education (MOE) this afternoon received more laptop contributions totaling 173 units from senior government officials and several companies. This in response to the currently on-going donation drive jointly initiated by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Transport and Info-Communications and Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry (AITI) to support online learning and to provide assistance to students in need amidst COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The presentation of the contributions was held at Conference Hall 1, MOE Headquarters, here.

Present to receive the contributions was Yang Berhormat, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education.

At this afternoon's event, Yang Berhormat, Awang Haji Abdul Hamid @ Haji Sabli bin Haji Arshad, Chairman for SABLI Group of Companies presented 40 laptops on behalf of his company.

A further 33 laptops were contributed by Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries of Brunei Darussalam. The contribution was co-presented by Yang Mulia Awang Mohammed Riza Bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Permanent Secretary (Public Service, Welfare, International and Media) at the Prime Minister Office; Yang Mulia Ir. Awang Haji Amer Hishamuddin Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Zakaria, Permanent Secretaty (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the Ministry of Development; and Yang Mulia, Ir Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Info Communications (MTIC),

Today's ceremony also received contribution from Hanafi Consultant who donated 40 laptops presented by Yang Mulia, Awang Haji Mohammad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Di-Gadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Abdul Rahman, Chairman of Hanafi Consultant. BS Syscom (B) Sdn Bhd contributed a further 40 laptops which were handed by its Managing Director, Yang Mulia, Sylvester Yong.

Another 20 laptops were received from SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd. Present to hand the donation of these laptops was Yang Mulia, Philip Grant, the company's General Manager.

Among those present at the presentation ceremony this afternoon were Yang Mulia,, Datin Seri Paduka Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Deputy Minister of Education; Yang Mulia,, Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education); Yang Mulia,, Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education); Yang Mulia,, Dr. Chin Wei Keh, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education); Yang Mulia,, Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education); Yang Mulia,, Ir Haji Jailani bin Haji Buntar, acting Chief Executive of AITI; Yang Mulia, Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee, acting Director General of Education; Heads of Department at the Ministry of Education; Hanafi Consultant;  SABLI Group of Companies; BS Syscom (B) Sdn Bhd and SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd.

The donation drive to collect ICT devices to support online learning for students in need is opened until 14th May 2020. Donations can be dropped off either at Block A, IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus, Jalan Muara or IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus, Kuala Belait on Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. 


KEMENTERIAN PENDIDIKAN TERUS MENERIMA SUMBANGAN BERUPA KOMPUTER RIBA

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Kementerian Pendidikan pada petang tadi menerima lagi sumbangan kepada kempen derma komputer, komputer riba dan tablet yang diusahakan bersama oleh Kementerian Pendidikan, Kementerian Pengangkutan dan Info-Komunikasi dan Pihak Berkuasa Industri Teknologi Info-Komunikasi Negara Brunei Darussalam (AITI) bagi menyokong pembelajaran dalam talian serta membantu para pelajar yang memerlukan semasa pandemik COVID-19 di negara ini. Sumbangan pada hari ini berupa 173 buah komputer riba yang diterima dari pihak pegawai kanan kerajaan dan beberapa buah syarikat. Majlis penerimaan sumbangan berlangsung di Dewan Persidangan 1, Ibu Pejabat Kementerian Pendidikan di sini.

Hadir bagi menerima sumbangan berkenaan ialah Yang Berhormat, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Menteri Pendidikan.

Sejumlah 40 unit komputer riba telah diterima dari Sabli Group of Companies yang disampaikan oleh Yang Berhormat, Awang Haji Abdul Hamid @ Haji Sabli bin Haji Arshad, Pengerusi Syarikat berkenaan.

Majlis turut menyaksikan penyerahan sumbangan berupa 33 unit komputer riba yang disumbangkan oleh Setiausaha-Setiausaha Tetap dan Timbalan-Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap Negara Brunei Darussalam. Sumbangan berkenaan disampaikan oleh Yang Mulia Awang Mohammed Riza Bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yunos, Setiausaha Tetap (Perkhidmatan Awam, Kesejahteraan, Antarabangsa dan Media) di Jabatan Perdana Menteri; Yang Mulia Ir. Awang Haji Amer Hishamuddin Bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Zakaria, Setiausaha Tetap (Infrastruktur, Perumahan Dan Profesional) di Kementerian Pembangunan; Yang Mulia, Ir Haji Mohammad Nazri bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Setiausaha Tetap di Kementerian Pengangkutan dan Infokomunikasi.

Juga memberikan sumbangan berupa komputer riba sebanyak 40 unit ialah Hanafi Consultant yang disampaikan oleh Yang Mulia, Awang Haji Mohammad Hanafi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Di-Gadong Seri Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Abdul Rahman, Pengerusi Hanafi Consultant; sejumlah 40 unit lagi disumbangkan oleh BS Syscom (B) Sdn Bhd yang disampaikan oleh Sylvester Yong, Pengarah Urusannya manakala sumbangan sebanyak 20 unit komputer riba diterima dari SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd yang disampaikan oleh Yang Mulia, Philip Grant, Pengurus Besar SC Tubular Solutions (B) Sdn Bhd.

Kempen derma untuk mengumpulkan peranti-peranti ICT bagi menyokong pembelajaran dalam talian untuk pelajar yang memerlukan ini dibuka sehingga 14 Mei 2020. Sumbangan boleh disalurkan di Blok A, IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus, Jalan Muara atau IBTE Jefri Bolkiah Campus, Kuala Belait pada hari Isnin hingga Khamis dan Sabtu dari jam 8:30 pagi hingga 1:30 petang.
