DEPARTMENT
OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY
Sections The
Department of Information and Communication Technology is divided
into four sections:
Administration Section
-
To provide effective, efficient
and quality administration services and facilities together with
competent, dedicated, honest and sincere workforce for client in
the guideline of the government rules.

Coordinating, communicating and
to ease administration tasks and ICT Department activities with
other departments within MOE for any events at National level.
-
To manage salary, allowance and
other payments and expenses for all officers and staff within
ICT Department.
-
To prepare and standardise
yearly departmental budget and/for to be forwarded to the
Expenditure Committee.

To manage expenditures to the
minimum in the guidelines of the financial rules.
-
To improve services and to
monitor the distribution of materials.
-
To improve productivity and
quality of services.
Educational
Technology Development Section
-
•To
provide materials development guideline on multimedia
-
•To develop and produce multimedia materials
(such as education software, e-book, virtual library and
others) with the co-operation of Curriculum Development
Department and private sector.

•To develop and produce ICT based teaching
and learning materials with the co-operation of
Curriculum Development Department and private sector.

•To recommend ICT
innovations to be integrated into national education
curriculum.

•To monitor the latest
development of ICT in education.

•To recommend and
implement projects relate to technological education.
Professional and ICT Training Section
-
•To
provide support and assistant for
schools in implementing ICT programs.

•Working
closely with Curriculum Development
Department in providing in-service
professional development for teachers
regarding the use of ICT in curriculum.

•Working
closely with agencies that provide
in-service training for staff and
teachers regarding with ICT skills.
-
•To
plan and implement ICT classroom
activities.
-
•To
monitor and review the progress and
effectiveness of all programs and
projects in educational ICT.

To gather, review and to provide
recommendations about ICT infrastructure
materials
-
To deliver ICT materials through the
Wide Area Network, Intranet or the
Internet.
-
To prepare ICT physical and
technological infrastructure programs

To monitor operations and to provide
support services for ICT physical and
technological infrastructure
-
To provide support and assistant for
education institutions in development of
technological planning and ICT usage.
-
To
indicate and specify ICT materials for
the use of Ministry of Education.
-
Working closely with relevant agencies
who can provide guidance in supplying
ICT hardware and software.
