THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF COFFEE WITH DP 2024: KEY LEARNING EXPERIENCES FROM THE PROGRAMME FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ASSESSMENT (PISA)

The Ministry of Education today held the Official Opening Ceremony of Coffee With DP 2024. The event was organised by the Department of Planning, Development, and Research in collaboration with the Department of Educators Management, Ministry of Education, and the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE), Universiti Brunei Darussalam, and took place at the Institute for Leadership, Innovation, and Advancement (ILIA).

Present as the guest of honour was Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a welcoming speech from Yang Mulia Wan Abd Rahman bin Wan Ibrahim, Acting Director of Planning, Development, and Research, Ministry of Education, as Acting Chairperson of the ceremony.​

The event proceeded with a presentation titled "Beyond the Numbers: Learning from PISA 2022 for Brunei Educators and Schools," delivered by Professor Kit Tai Hau from the Department of Educational Psychology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.​

With the title "Key Learning Experiences From The Programme For International Student Assessment (PISA)," this event aims to enhance the understanding of Brunei Darussalam's stakeholders, particularly those in the Ministry of Education, as well as school leaders and educators, regarding the findings and reports from PISA 2022 for future improvements. It also provides opportunities for continuous professional development and growth in conducting international assessment analyses, specifically PISA.

This year's Coffee with DP event, which includes presentations and workshops, will run for six days from 20 to 25 May 2024, involving Heads of Departments, Cluster Heads, Specialist Teachers, officers from various departments under the Ministry of Education, as well as students from the Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

Also present were Yang Mulia Vice Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Yang Mulia Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Yang Mulia Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Yang Mulia Assistant Vice Chancellor (Research) of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Yang Mulia representative from Islamic Studies Department, Ministry of Religious Affairs, heads of departments and officers from the Ministry of Education and SHBIE.

ACARA PEMBUKAAN RASMI COFFEE WITH DP 2024:

PEMBELAJARAN UTAMA DARIPADA PENGALAMAN PROGRAMME 

FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ASSESSMENT (PISA)

Kementerian Pendidikan pada hari ini telah mengadakan Acara Pembukaan Rasmi Coffee With DP bagi tahun 2024. Majlis ini dikendalikan oleh Jabatan Perancangan, Perkembangan dan Penyelidikan dengan kerjasama Jabatan Pengurusan Pendidik, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education (SHBIE), Universiti Brunei Darussalam bertempat di Institute for Leadership, Innovation and Advancement (ILIA).


Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat majlis ialah Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Kementerian Pendidikan. 


Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah diikuti dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada Yang Mulia Wan Abd Rahman bin Wan Ibrahim, Pemangku Pengarah Perancangan, Perkembangan dan Penyelidikan, Kementerian Pendidikan, selaku Pemangku Pengerusi Majlis.


Acara diteruskan dengan pembentangan bertajuk ‘Beyond the Numbers: Learning from PISA 2022 for Brunei Educators and Schools’ yang disampaikan oleh Professor Kit Tai Hau, Department of Educational Psychology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong.


Dengan tajuk “Pembelajaran Utama Daripada Pengalaman Programme For International Student Assessment (PISA)’", acara ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kefahaman Negara Brunei Darussalam bagi pihak berkepentingan terutama sekali di Kementerian Pendidikan dan juga pemimpin-pemimpin sekolah dan tenaga pengajar terhadap dapatan dan laporan dari PISA 2022 bagi penambahbaikan masa hadapan, serta memberi peluang bagi perkembangan profesional berterusan dan perkembangan dalam membuat analisis penilaian antarabangsa, khususnya PISA.


Acara Coffee with DP tahun ini, yang berbentuk taklimat dan bengkel, berlangsung selama enam hari mulai dari 20 hingga 25 Mei 2024 melibatkan Ketua-Ketua Jabatan, Ketua-Ketua Kluster, Guru-Guru Pakar (Specialist Teachers), pegawai-pegawai di beberapa buah jabatan di bawah Kementerian Pendidikan serta para mahasiswa dan mahasiswi dari Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.


Turut hadir pada majlis tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Naib Canselor Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Yang Mulia Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Pengajian Tinggi), Yang Mulia Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Yang Mulia Penolong Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan), Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Yang Mulia Wakil daripada Jabatan Pengajian Islam, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama, ketua-ketua jabatan dan pegawai-pegawai dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan SHBIE.
