NAVIGATING THE 21ST CENTURY LEADERSHIP:
SHAPING TOMORROW'S SCHOOLS TODAY WORKSHOP
IN SUPPORT OF ASEAN EDUCATION WORK PLAN 2021 - 2025

BERAKAS – The Ministry of Education, through the School Leadership Unit, Brunei Darussalam Leadership and Teacher Academy (BDLTA), Department of Educators Management, today concluded Phase 2 of the “Navigating The 21st Century Leadership: Shaping Tomorrow's Schools Today" Workshop, held over four days starting from 19 to 22 May 2025 at London Hall, The Airport Mall.

This regional initiative supports the implementation of the ASEAN Education Work Plan 2021–2025, which prioritises the strengthening of teacher leadership capacity and competencies in 21st-century skills, inclusive practices, and innovative education. The full programme comprises three phases: Phase 1 was conducted online from 29 to 30 April 2025, followed by Phase 2 delivered face-to-face in Brunei Darussalam from 19 to 22 May 2025, while the final phase is scheduled to take place virtually in June 2025.
The workshop convenes 28 educational leaders, comprising Heads of Subject Departments in Schools, from seven ASEAN Member States: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Republic of Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. In advancing academic excellence, the participants take on an important role in fostering inclusive and future-ready learning environments within their respective education systems.


Over the course of four days, participants engaged in a range of future-oriented leadership modules, including The Art of Future Readiness; Educator's Role in Building Future-Ready Citizens: Collaborative Inquiry and Citizenship; InnovatED; Building a Future Ready Mindset: Leading Ethically with AI in a Human-Centered World; and Building a Data-Driven Culture: Empowering Teacher Leaders. A key highlight of Phase Two was the Leadership Circle Seminar, where participants presented regional best practices under the theme “Effective Instructional and Emerging Innovative Practices Towards Future-Ready Learners".
This programme not only serves as a professional development platform but also enhances regional collaboration and strengthens enduring networks among school leaders. It reaffirms Brunei Darussalam's commitment to shaping a resilient, innovative, and inclusive education ecosystem across Southeast Asia.

SEBAGAI SOKONGAN KEPADA PELAN KERJA PENDIDIKAN ASEAN 2021–2025

BERAKAS – Kementerian Pendidikan, melalui Unit Kepimpinan Sekolah, Akademi Kepimpinan dan Guru Brunei Darussalam (BDLTA), Jabatan Pengurusan Pendidik, hari ini menutup tirai Fasa Kedua Bengkel “Navigating The 21st Century Leadership: Shaping Tomorrow's Schools Today" yang berlangsung selama empat hari bermula 19 hingga 22 Mei 2025 bertempat di London Hall, The Airport Mall.
Inisiatif serantau ini menyokong pelaksanaan ASEAN Education Work Plan 2021–2025, yang memberi keutamaan kepada pengukuhan kapasiti kepimpinan guru serta kompetensi dalam kemahiran abad ke-21, amalan inklusif dan pendidikan inovatif. Program ini merangkumi tiga fasa iaitu Fasa Pertama diadakan secara dalam talian pada 29 hingga 30 April 2025, manakala Fasa Kedua berlangsung secara bersemuka di Brunei Darussalam dari 19 hingga 22 Mei 2025, manakala fasa terakhir dijadualkan berlangsung secara dalam talian pada bulan Jun 2025.
Bengkel ini menghimpunkan seramai 28 pemimpin pendidikan yang merupakan Ketua-Ketua Jabatan Mata Pelajaran di Sekolah dari tujuh Negara Anggota ASEAN iaitu Negara Brunei Darussalam, Kemboja, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Republik Singapura, Thailand dan Vietnam. Dalam memajukan kecemerlangan akademik, para peserta memainkan peranan penting dalam membudayakan persekitaran pembelajaran yang inklusif dan bersiap sedia untuk masa depan dalam sistem pendidikan masing-masing.
Sepanjang empat hari, para peserta mengikuti pelbagai modul kepimpinan berteraskan masa hadapan, seperti The Art of Future Readiness; Educator's Role in Building Future-Ready Citizens: Collaborative Inquiry and Citizenship; InnovatED; Building a Future Ready Mindset: Leading Ethically with AI in a Human Centered World; serta Building a Data-Driven Culture: Empowering Teacher Leaders. Antara kemuncak utama Fasa Kedua adalah Leadership Circle Seminar, di mana peserta membentangkan amalan terbaik serantau di bawah tema “Effective Instructional and Emerging Innovative Practices Towards Future Ready Learners."
Program ini bukan sahaja berfungsi sebagai platform pembangunan profesional, tetapi juga mengukuhkan kerjasama serantau serta jaringan berterusan dalam kalangan pemimpin sekolah. Ia mengukuhkan lagi komitmen Negara Brunei Darussalam dalam membentuk ekosistem pendidikan yang berdaya tahan, inovatif dan inklusif di seluruh Asia Tenggara.
