BRUNEI DARUSSALAM STUDENTS ACHIEVE SUCCESS AT THE
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS PROJECT EXCELLENCE AWARD 2025 IN HAT YAI, THAILAND

BERAKAS – Brunei Darussalam continues to make its mark on the international stage as two of its schools secured first place and received honours at the International Students Project Excellence Award 2025, organised by Prince of Songkla University, held at the International Convention Centre, Hat Yai, Thailand, from 21 to 23 May 2025.
Present at the Brunei International Airport to welcome and congratulate the delegation was Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Sarifah binti Haji Matsawali, Acting Senior Special Duties Officer (Corporate), Department of Schools, Ministry of Education.

In the Social Science Category – Upper Primary Level, Sekolah Rendah Pengiran Kesuma Negara Bukit Beruang emerged as the winner with their project entitled "Lakastah Membaca (Let's Read)". The school received the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Royal Trophy as a mark of their outstanding achievement.
Meanwhile, in the Social Science Category – Upper Secondary Level, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali was awarded an Honourable Mention for their presentation of the project "Strong Minds for Successful Academic," in recognition of their efforts and achievements. The trophies and awards were presented by Professor Dr. Afifi Lateh, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prince of Songkla University as Chair of the ceremony.

A total of 14 students represented Sekolah Rendah Pengiran Kesuma Negara Bukit Beruang, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Abu Bakar, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali and Sekolah Menengah Perdana Wazir at the final stage of the competition. This participation was coordinated by the Ministry of Education through the Department of Schools and the Science, Technology and Environment Partnership (STEP) Centre.
Among the objectives of this competition is to encourage students from educational institutions worldwide to develop analytical skills, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities through projects in the fields of science and social sciences.
The success brought pride to their respective institutions and to the nation, while also reflecting the excellence of Brunei Darussalam's education system, which is rooted in strong values, innovation, and the principles of 21st-century learning.
This achievement stands as a testament to the high level of commitment, creativity, and dedication demonstrated by the students, complemented by the continuous guidance and support of their teachers in advancing knowledge and educational innovation. It also underscores the determination of Brunei's educational institutions to nurture a generation that is knowledgeable, competitive, and capable of excelling on the global stage.

PELAJAR-PELAJAR BRUNEI DARUSSALAM MERAIH KEJAYAAN DALAM PERTADINGAN
ANUGERAH KECEMERLANGAN PROJEK PELAJAR ANTARABANGSA 2025 DI HAT YAI, THAILAND

BERAKAS – Negara Brunei Darussalam terus mencipta kejayaan di persada antarabangsa apabila dua buah sekolah dari negara ini berjaya merangkul kejohanan serta menerima anugerah dalam Pertandingan Anugerah Kecemerlangan Projek Pelajar Antarabangsa 2025 (International Students Project Excellence Award 2025), anjuran Prince of Songkla University yang telah diadakan di International Convention Centre, Hat Yai, Thailand, pada 21 hingga 23 Mei 2025.
Berada di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei bagi menyambut ketibaan delegasi dan seterusnya memberikan ucapan tahniah ialah Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Sarifah binti Haji Matsawali, Pemangku Pegawai Tugas-Tugas Khas Kanan (Korporat), Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan.
Bagi Kategori Sains Sosial – Peringkat Rendah Atas, Sekolah Rendah Pengiran Kesuma Negara Bukit Beruang telah berjaya meraih gelaran Juara menerusi projek bertajuk "Lakastah Membaca (Let's Read)". Kemenangan ini membolehkan sekolah berkenaan membawa pulang Trofi Diraja Puteri Maha Chakri Sirindhorn sebagai tanda penghargaan atas pencapaian cemerlang mereka.
Sementara itu, bagi Kategori Sains Sosial – Peringkat Menengah Atas, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali telah menerima Penghargaan Khas (Honourable Mention) atas pembentangan projek bertajuk "Strong Minds for Successful Academic", sebagai pengiktirafan terhadap usaha dan pencapaian mereka. Trofi dan anugerah berkenaan telah disampaikan oleh Dekan Fakulti Pendidikan, Prince of Songkla University, Profesor Dr. Afifi Lateh, selaku pengerusi majlis.
Seramai 14 orang pelajar mewakili Sekolah Rendah Pengiran Kesuma Negara Bukit Beruang, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Abu Bakar, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali dan Sekolah Menengah Perdana Wazir telah menyertai peringkai akhir pertandingan tersebut. Penyertaan ini diselaraskan oleh pihak Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah dan Pusat Kerjasama Sains, Teknologi dan Alam Sekitar (STEP).
Antara objektif utama pertandingan ini ialah untuk menggalakkan pelajar dari institusi pendidikan di seluruh dunia membangunkan kemahiran analitikal, pemikiran kritikal serta keupayaan menyelesaikan masalah secara kreatif melalui projek dalam bidang sains dan sains sosial.
Kejayaan yang dicapai telah mengharumkan nama institusi masing-masing serta negara, seterusnya mencerminkan kecemerlangan sistem pendidikan negara yang berteraskan nilai murni, daya cipta dan prinsip pembelajaran abad ke-21.
Pencapaian ini juga menjadi bukti komitmen tinggi, kreativiti dan dedikasi yang ditunjukkan oleh para pelajar, disamping bimbingan serta sokongan berterusan daripada para guru dalam usaha memartabatkan ilmu dan inovasi pendidikan. Ia turut menyerlahkan tekad institusi pendidikan negara dalam melahirkan generasi berilmu, berdaya saing dan berpotensi untuk cemerlang di persada antarabangsa.
