LAUNCHING CEREMONY FOR THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE RECITATION OF THE HOLY VERSES OF AL-QURAN FOR THE 80 TIMES KHATAM AL-QURAN CEREMONY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CELEBRATION OF THE 80TH BIRTHDAY ANNIVERSARY OF HIS MAJESTY THE SULTAN AND YANG DI-PERTUAN OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM FOR THE YEAR 2026
Thursday, 2 April 2026 - The nationwide 80 Times Khatam Al-Quran ceremony was held in conjunction with the 80th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The launch of the ceremony was carried out simultaneously across all districts, involving the participation of students from schools and higher education institutions under the Ministry of Education, alongside the involvement of members of the Mukim and Village Consultative Councils, as well as government officials.
In the Brunei-Muara District, the ceremony was held at Jame' 'Asr Hassanal Bolkiah, Kampong Kiarong.
In the Belait District, the event took place at Masjid Mohammad Jamalul Alam.
In the Tutong District, the ceremony was held at Masjid Hassanal Bolkiah, Pekan Tutong.
Meanwhile, in the Temburong District, the ceremony was held at Masjid Utama Mohammad Salleh.
The ceremony was held to express gratitude to Allah the Almighty for the blessings that have allowed Brunei to remain peaceful and prosperous under the wise leadership of His Majesty. It also served as a platform to seek prayers for the continued health, longevity and well-being of His Majesty.

BAGI TAHUN 2026
Khamis, 2 April 2026 - Majlis 80 Kali Khatam Al-Quran peringkat kebangsaan telah diadakan bersempena dengan Sambutan Ulang Tahun Hari Keputeraan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam yang ke-80.
Pelancaran majlis tersebut telah dilaksanakan secara serentak di seluruh daerah, dengan melibatkan para penuntut dari sekolah-sekolah dan institusi-institusi pengajian tinggi serta penyertaan daripada ahli-ahli Majlis Perundingan Mukim dan Kampung serta pegawai-pegawai kerajaan.
Di Daerah Brunei dan Muara, majlis telah diadakan di Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampong Kiarong. Di Daerah Belait, majlis berlangsung di Masjid Mohammad Jamalul Alam. Bagi Daerah Tutong, majlis diadakan di Masjid Hassanal Bolkiah, Pekan Tutong. Sementara itu, di Daerah Temburong, majlis telah diadakan di Masjid Utama Mohammad Salleh.
Majlis Khatam Al-Quran 80 Kali Khatam ini diadakan adalah sebagai menzahirkan kesyukuran rakyat dan penduduk Negara ini kepada Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala di atas limpah rahmat dan nikmatNya jua menjadikan Negara Brunei Darussalam di bawah kepimpinan yang bijaksana Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam sentiasa berada dalam keadaan aman dan sejahtera, di samping memohon doa ke hadrat Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala semoga Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam dilanjutkan usia, sihat wal'afiat serta mendapat Taufiq dan hidayah serta inayah daripada Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala.
