The Keynote Speech for the event lasted for 45 minutes, where Awang Adna Shatriremie shared his professional journey from an entrepreneur to entrepreneurship educator, mentor and ecosystem builder. He emphasised on the importance of Youth Empowerment and Sustainability as well as how entrepreneurial thinking and behavior as an ecosystem could lead to a better economy for a nation. Awang Adna Shatriremie’s involvement and contribution with both academia and pragmatic exposure and practice within the entrepreneurship ecosystem from Brunei, Southeast Asia, to San Diego, California (USA) have paved ways for the concept of entrepreneurship to have its own (Bruneian) identity and how it can be embedded within the society especially through the platform of education.

During the virtual conference, Awang Adna Shatriremie also shared his insight and professional perception to Business Model Canvas with the pragmatic ‘Smart Experiment’ methodology, a relatively simplified methodology where he had the opportunity to share and test its validity within the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), that led to the University California San Diego’s invitation to him as a panel speaker and as a lead trainer for entrepreneurship program. In his speech, Awang Adna cited stories of Brunei student entrepreneurs from the secondary and higher learning institutions where he and his multi-disciplinary team had started the entrepreneurship ecosystem since the year 2013. The Keynote Speech ended with a question-and-answer session with the participants.
