In preparing and exposing students to the importance of developing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) skills that are relevant for Industrial Revolution 4.0, the Ministry of Education through Science, Technology and Environment Partnership (STEP) Centre held a soft launching ceremony for "STEAM Narrational Resources" at the Main Hall, Ministry of Education, this afternoon.

Present as the Guest of Honour to officiate the event was the Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education, Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin. 

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by an opening remark by the Chairperson, Yang Mulia Pengiran Hajah Mas Joliwane binti Pengiran Haji Tejudin, Acting Head of Science, Technology and Environment Partnership Centre (STEP Centre), Ministry of Education.

"STEAM Narrational Resources" is a joint effort between the STEP Centre and final year Digital Media students of Politeknik Brunei in producing material resources to instil interest and provide students with the understanding of STEAM Education through posters, video, activities (games) and other media resources. The resources will be available for viewing at the centre.

A total of five themes were selected for the resources, namely: (1) A Glimpse into the Future; (2) Roots of Modern Technology; (3) Preparing for the Future; (4) What is STEAM?; and (5) About STEP Centre.

Also in attendance were Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Acting Director General of Education, Directors and Senior Officers from the Ministry of Education.

MAJLIS PELANCARAN STEAM NARRATIONAL RESOURCES

Dalam usaha mempersiapkan dan mendedahkan pelajar-pelajar kepada kepentingan memperkembangkan kemahiran STEAM sebagai persediaan bagi Revolusi Industri 4.0, Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Pusat Kerjasama Sains, Teknologi dan Alam Sekitar (Pusat STEP) petang ini telah mengadakan majlis pelancaran "STEAM Narrational Resources" di Dewan Utama, Kementerian Pendidikan di sini.

Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat dan seterusnya melancarkan acara berkenaan ialah Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Kementerian Pendidikan.

Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan diteruskan dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada pengerusi majlis, Yang Mulia Pengiran Hajah Mas Joliwane binti Pengiran Haji Tejudin, Pemangku Ketua Pusat STEP, Kementerian Pendidikan.

 "STEAM Narrational Resources" adalah hasil kerjasama di antara Pusat STEP dengan pelajar-pelajar Politeknik Brunei yang mengikuti jurusan Media Digital dalam tahun akhir. Tujuan utama penyediaan dan penghasilan bahan-bahan sumber adalah untuk menarik minat dan memberikan kefahaman kepada pelajar-pelajar mengenai Pendidikan STEAM melalui penerangan dalam bentuk poster, video, aktiviti (games) dan sumber-sumber yang lain. Bahan Pameran pada hari ini akan dapat dikunjungi oleh para pelajar sekolah di Pusat STEP.

Sebanyak lima tema telah dipilih bagi bahan-bahan berkenaan iaitu: (1) A Glimpse into the Future; (2) Roots of Modern Technology; (3) Preparing for the Future; (4) What is STEAM?; dan (5) About STEP Centre.

Turut hadir di majlis berkenaan ialah Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Pemangku Ketua Pengarah Pendidikan dan Pengarah-Pengarah dan Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan dari Kementerian Pendidikan.
