Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr.) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education Brunei Darussalam attended the G20 Joint Meeting of Ministers of Education and Ministers of Labour and Employment held virtually today. As the Chair of the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) for 2021, Brunei Darussalam is invited as special guest of the Republic of Italy who holds the G20 Presidency for 2021. This Joint Meeting was held after the G20 Education Ministers' Meeting on the same day.
This year's G20 Joint Meeting of Ministers of Education and Ministers of Labour and Employment were represented by G20 Members' Ministers, Deputy Ministers and representatives from the education and employment sectors. Also present was Singapore, Spain and the Netherlands as special guests to G20 meetings. In addition, regional and international organisations such as United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), Organisation for Economic Co-operative and Development (OECD), International Labour Organisation (ILO), World Bank and the African Union (AU) also attended the meetings.
As part of the meeting agenda, Yang Berhormat Dato had the opportunities to share some of the initiatives taken by both ASEAN and the Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam on the transitions from school to work. The Minister of Education also congratulated Italy for its successful leadership and supports the G20 Joint Declaration on Transitions from School to Work that signifies the commitment of G20 in fields of employment.
Also present was Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Yang Mulia Awang Mohammad Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary (Safety, Welfare and Law), Yang Mulia Dr. Awang Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Acting Director-General of Education, Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Saufi bin Haji Ibrahim, Commissioner of Labour, and officials from Ministry of Education and Ministry of Home Affairs Brunei Darussalam.

Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr.) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Menteri Hal Ehwal Dalam Negeri, dan Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Menteri Pendidikan Brunei Darussalam telah menghadiri Mesyuarat Bersama G20 bagi Menteri-Menteri Pendidikan dan Menteri-Menteri Buruh dan Pekerjaan yang diadakan secara maya hari ini. Sebagai Pengerusi Persatuan Negara-Negara Asia Tenggara (ASEAN) bagi tahun 2021, Brunei Darussalam dijemput sebagai tetamu khas Republik Itali yang memegang Jawatan Presiden G20 bagi tahun 2021. Mesyuarat Bersama ini diadakan selepas Mesyuarat G20 Bagi Menteri-Menteri Pendidikan pada hari yang sama.
Mesyuarat Bersama G20 bagi Menteri-Menteri Pendidikan dan Menteri-Menteri Buruh dan Pekerjaan diwakili oleh Menteri-Menteri, Timbalan-Timbalan Menteri dan wakil-wakil dari sektor pendidikan dan pekerjaan. Turut hadir ialah Singapura, Sepanyol dan Belanda sebagai tetamu khas untuk mesyuarat-mesyuarat G20. Selain itu, pertubuhan serantau dan antarabangsa seperti Pertubuhan Pendidikan, Sains dan Kebudayaan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (UNESCO), Pertubuhan Kerjasama dan Pembangunan Ekonomi (OECD), Pertubuhan Buruh Antarabangsa (ILO), World Bank dan Kesatuan Afrika (AU) turut menghadiri Mesyuarat Bersama ini.
Sebagai sebahagian daripada agenda Mesyuarat Bersama tersebut, Yang Berhormat Dato berpeluang untuk berkongsi beberapa inisiatif yang dilaksanakan oleh ASEAN dan Kementerian Pendidikan Brunei Darussalam mengenai isu peralihan dari sekolah ke tempat kerja. Yang Berhormat Menteri Pendidikan turut mengucapkan tahniah kepada Itali atas kejayaan kepimpinannya dalam mesyuarat-mesyuarat berkenaan dan menyokong Deklarasi Bersama G20 mengenai Peralihan dari Sekolah ke Dunia Pekerjaan yang menandakan komitmen G20 dalam bidang Pekerjaan.
Turut hadir Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Yang Mulia Awang Mohammad Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Setiausaha Tetap (Keselamatan, Kesejahteraan Dan Undang-Undang), Yang Mulia Dr. Awang Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Pemangku Ketua-Pengarah Pendidikan, Awang Muhammad Saufi bin Haji Ibrahim, Pesuruhjaya Buruh, dan pegawai-pegawai dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kementerian Hal Ehwal Dalam Negeri, Negara Brunei Darussalam.
