JENESYS PROGRAMME FOR ASEAN-JAPAN SPORTS X SDGs

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM AND JAPAN

BERAKAS - The Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam, through the "Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths" (JENESYS) Programme for ASEAN-Japan Sports X Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), has sent a delegation to Tokyo and Fukushima, Japan comprising nine Year 9 and Year 10 students from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan, Sekolah Menengah Berakas, and Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, Lumut with an accompanying teacher from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan. The programme will take place for eight days, from 28 October to 4 November 2024.

Present at Brunei International Airport to bid farewell were Yang Mulia Pg Ali Shafie bin Pg Haji Abas, Acting Assistant Director, Head of Student Affairs Section, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam and Ms. Miura Keiko, Deputy Chief of Mission/Counsellor from the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam.

The programme aims to foster collaboration between Japan and ASEAN countries in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is an initiative of the United Nations (UN) involving all member states, with football serving as a platform to support this effort. Additionally, the programme provides learning opportunities and introduces participants to each other's cultures, focusing on socio-cultural exchange as well as further strengthening the close relationships and cooperation that have already been established between Brunei Darussalam and Japan.


During the visit, the students and the accompanying teacher will have the opportunity to see more closely the implementation of the education system and football industry system in Japan, as well as gain knowledge and experience through learning sessions and activities with students from 11 other ASEAN countries. A total of 110 participants have registered for this programme, which will also provide selected participants with exposure to independent living abroad in pursuit of effective learning. Additionally, they will explore the initiatives developed by each football club in the J.League and the Japan National Football Team to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The students will also have the chance to visit interesting places, sports facilities, and historical sites in Japan to learn about the country's history and culture.

 

Also present at the Brunei International Airport were officials from the Department of Schools, Ministry of Education; the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam; as well as the students' parents and family members. The programme is coordinated by the Department of Schools, Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam.

PROGRAM JENESYS BAGI SUKAN ASEAN-JAPAN X SDGs

NEGARA BRUNEI DARUSSALAM DAN JEPUN

BERAKAS - Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam melalui Program "Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths" (JENESYS) bagi Sukan ASEAN-Japan X Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (SDGs), telah menghantar delegasi ke Tokyo dan Fukushima, Jepun yang terdiri daripada sembilan orang pelajar Tahun 9 dan Tahun 10 dari Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan, Sekolah Menengah Berakas dan Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, Lumut bersama seorang guru pengiring dari Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan. Program tersebut akan berlangsung selama lapan hari, bermula pada 28 Oktober hingga 4 November 2024.

 

Hadir di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei bagi mengucapkan selamat belayar ialah Yang Mulia Pg Ali Shafie bin Pg Haji Abas, Pemangku Penolong Pengarah, Ketua Bahagian Hal Ehwal Pelajar, Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Puan Miura Keiko, Timbalan Ketua Misi/Kaunselor dari Kedutaan Jepun di Negara Brunei Darussalam.

 

Program ini bertujuan memupuk kerjasama antara Jepun dan negara-negara ASEAN dalam menyokong Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (SDGs), iaitu inisiatif Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (UN) yang melibatkan semua negara anggota, dengan sukan bola sepak dijadikan platform bagi menyokong usaha ini. Selain itu, program ini menyediakan peluang pembelajaran serta memperkenalkan budaya masing-masing, yang memfokuskan kepada pertukaran sosio-budaya dan mengukuhkan lagi hubungan erat serta kerjasama yang sedia terjalin antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Jepun.

 

Semasa lawatan tersebut, para pelajar dan guru pengiring akan berpeluang menyaksikan pelaksanaan sistem pendidikan dan sistem industri bola sepak di Jepun secara lebih dekat, di samping menimba ilmu dan pengalaman melalui sesi pembelajaran serta aktiviti bersama pelajar-pelajar dari 11 negara ASEAN yang lain. Seramai 110 peserta telah didaftarkan dalam program ini, yang turut memberikan pendedahan kepada para peserta terpilih mengenai kehidupan berdikari di luar negara dalam usaha menuntut ilmu pengetahuan dengan lebih berkesan. Selain itu, mereka akan mendalami usaha-usaha yang telah dipupuk oleh setiap kelab bola sepak dalam J.League dan Pasukan Kebangsaan Bola Sepak Jepun ke arah menyokong pencapaian Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (SDGs). Para pelajar juga akan berpeluang melawat tempat-tempat menarik, fasiliti-fasiliti sukan, serta tapak-tapak bersejarah di Jepun bagi mempelajari sejarah dan kebudayaan negara tersebut.

 

Turut hadir di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei ialah pegawai-pegawai dari Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan; Kedutaan Jepun di Negara Brunei Darussalam; serta ibu bapa dan ahli keluarga pelajar. Program ini diselaras oleh Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
