SEP4SCHOOL AND SEP STUDENT CAMP

BERAKAS – The Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam, through the Department of Schools; the Science, Technology and Environment Partnership Centre (STEP Centre); and the Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre (EIC), has coordinated Brunei Darussalam's participation in the SEP4School and SEP Student Camp programmes organised by the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for Sustainability (SEPS).

The five-day programmes will take place concurrently in Bangkok, Thailand from 27 to 31 May 2025, bringing together students, teachers, and school principals from SEAMEO member countries, as well as from the People's Republic of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
Present at the Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to the delegates was Yang Mulia Dayang Norhaiyati binti Haji Serudin, Assistant Director of Schools, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education.

Representing Brunei Darussalam, the Ministry of Education has sent a delegation of six participants from Sekolah Menengah Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, comprising four students, one accompanying teacher, and the school principal.
With the theme “Developing a School Culture of Sustainability: The Sufficiency Economy Mindset in Climate Action in Schools," the SEP4School and Student Camp serves as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, leadership development, and meaningful youth engagement in sustainability issues. By integrating the principles of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) with practical climate action strategies, the programme aims to foster long-term change and build a strong culture of sustainability within school communities.
Through this programme, participants are expected to return equipped with new knowledge, practical skills, and renewed commitment to fostering sustainable thinking within their respective institutions. In addition to enhancing knowledge, the programme encourages global citizenship, promotes cross-cultural collaboration, and nurtures international friendships among students from diverse backgrounds.
Also present were officials from the Ministry of Education, representing the Department of Schools, EIC, as well as parents and family members of the participating students.

BERAKAS – Kementerian Pendidikan, Negara Brunei Darussalam, melalui Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah; Pusat Kerjasama Sains, Teknologi dan Alam Sekitar (Pusat STEP); serta Pusat Keusahawanan Inovasi (EIC), telah menyelaras penyertaan Negara Brunei Darussalam dalam program SEP4School dan SEP Student Camp yang dianjurkan oleh SEAMEO Regional Centre for Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for Sustainability (SEPS).
Kedua-dua program ini akan berlangsung secara serentak di Bangkok, Thailand, selama lima hari, dari 27 hingga 31 Mei 2025. Program ini menghimpunkan pelajar, guru dan pengetua sekolah dari negara-negara ahli SEAMEO, termasuk Republik Rakyat China, Jepun, dan Republik Korea.
Hadir di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei untuk mengucapkan selamat belayar kepada para delegasi ialah Yang Mulia Dayang Norhaiyati binti Haji Serudin, Penolong Pengarah Sekolah-Sekolah, Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan.
Bagi mewakili Negara Brunei Darussalam, Kementerian Pendidikan telah menghantar seramai enam orang delegasi dari Sekolah Menengah Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam, yang terdiri daripada empat orang pelajar, seorang guru pengiring dan pengetua sekolah berkenaan.
Dengan tema “Developing a School Culture of Sustainability: The Sufficiency Economy Mindset in Climate Action in Schools," program ini menjadi platform dinamik untuk pertukaran ilmu, pembangunan kepimpinan serta penglibatan belia dalam isu kelestarian alam sekitar. Melalui integrasi prinsip Falsafah Ekonomi Mampan (SEP) dengan strategi tindakan iklim yang praktikal, program ini bertujuan membina budaya kelestarian yang kukuh dalam komuniti sekolah.
Melalui program ini, para peserta dijangka akan pulang dengan ilmu baharu, kemahiran praktikal dan semangat yang diperbaharui untuk menyemai pemikiran lestari dalam institusi masing-masing. Selain meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan, program ini turut memupuk nilai kewarganegaraan global, menggalakkan kerjasama rentas negara, serta membina jaringan persahabatan dalam kalangan pelajar dari pelbagai latar belakang budaya dan negara.
Turut hadir ialah pegawai-pegawai Kementerian Pendidikan dari Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, EIC, serta ibu bapa dan ahli keluarga pelajar.
