SCHOOL LEADERS SYMPOSIUM 2025

TUNGKU LINK – The Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam today held the School Leaders Symposium 2025 at Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Present as the Guest of Honour for this event was Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Acting Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by welcoming remarks from Yang Mulia Dayang Masdiah binti Awang Haji Tuah, Director of Educators Management, Ministry of Education, as the Chairperson of the School Leaders Symposium 2025. The event continued with a speech by the Guest of Honour, followed by a sharing session titled “A Glimpse On Students Learning Assessment Framework", delivered by Yang Mulia Awang Shahrizal bin Haji Emran, Acting Director of Examinations, Ministry of Education.
The event proceeded with a keynote presentation titled “Early Intervention And Its Role In Proactive, Successful Early Childhood Development For All Students Including With Special Educational Needs (SEN)" delivered by Yang Mulia Dr. Nordiana binti Haji Zakir, Assistant Professor in Early Childhood Education and Care, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. This was followed by a Multi-Stakeholder Forum titled “Collaborative Pathways To Early Intervention For Students With SEN" presented by four panelists: Yang Mulia Siti Zaharah binti Haji Abdul Razak, Acting Deputy Director of the Department of Community Development (JAPEM), Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sports; Yang Mulia Dayang Dr. Foong Sue Wen, Pediatric Consultant from the Child Development Centre (CDC), Ministry of Health; Yang Mulia Dayang Widiafalena binti Haji Surhan, Education Officer, Special Education Department, Ministry of Education and Yang Mulia Pengiran Ayup bin Pengiran Haji Othman, as parents' representative. The afternoon session continued with a workshop titled 'Co-Creating the Blueprint – School Leaders' Roundtable on Effective Early Intervention in Special Education', organized by the Special Education Department, Ministry of Education.
A total of 380 participants attended the Symposium, including invited guests comprising school leaders from primary, secondary, colleges, and sixth-form centres within both government and private education institutions under the Ministry of Education, as well as schools under the Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs.
With the theme “Quality Leaders, Quality Education" and sub-theme “Early Intervention For Students With SEN - Ensuring Holistic Growth Through Proactive Support," the symposium aimed to strengthen systemic coherence within the Ministry of Education through robust and sustainable engagement and support from all stakeholders.
The symposium aimed to enhance the capacity and competency of school leadership while fostering shared accountability among all stakeholders, particularly departments and schools, in implementing the initiatives of the Ministry of Education.
In attendance were Heads of Departments from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as superintendents of government schools under the Ministry of Education. The 2025 School Leaders Symposium was organized by the Department of Educators Management, Ministry of Education.

TUNGKU LINK – Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam pada hari ini telah mengadakan Simposium Pemimpin Sekolah 2025 bertempat di Dewan Canselor, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat bagi majlis ini ialah Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Pemangku Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Doa Selamat, diikuti dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada Yang Mulia Dayang Masdiah binti Awang Haji Tuah, Pengarah Pengurusan Pendidik, Kementerian Pendidikan, selaku Pengerusi Simposium Pemimpin Sekolah 2025. Majlis diteruskan dengan ucapan daripada Tetamu Kehormat dan seterusnya sesi kongsisama bertajuk “A Glimpse On Students Learning Assessment Framework" yang disampaikan oleh Yang Mulia Awang Shahrizal bin Haji Emran, Pemangku Pengarah Peperiksaan, Kementerian Pendidikan.
Majlis disusuli dengan penyampaian ucaptama bertajuk “Early Intervention and Its Role in Proactive, Successful Early Childhood Development for All Students Including with Special Educational Needs (SEN)" daripada Yang Mulia Dr. Nordiana binti Haji Zakir, Penolong Profesor dalam bidang Pendidikan dan Penjagaan Awal Kanak-Kanak, Institut Pendidikan Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Majlis seterusnya diikuti dengan Forum Pelbagai Pihak Berkepentingan bertajuk “Collaborative Pathways To Early Intervention For Students With SEN" yang dibentangkan oleh 4 orang ahli panel, terdiri daripada Yang Mulia Siti Zaharah binti Haji Abdul Razak, Pemangku Timbalan Pengarah, Jabatan Pembangunan Masyarakat (JAPEM), Kementerian Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan (KKBS); Yang Mulia Dayang Dr Foong Sue Wen, Pakar Perunding Pediatrik, Pusat Perkembangan Kanak-Kanak (CDC), Kementerian Kesihatan; Yang Mulia Dayang Widiafalena binti Haji Surhan, Pegawai Pelajaran, Jabatan Pendidikan Khas, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Yang Mulia Pengiran Ayup bin Pengiran Haji Othman, selaku wakil ibu bapa. Sesi petang diteruskan lagi dengan Bengkel yang bertajuk “Co Creating the Blueprint - School Leaders' Roundtable on Effective Early Intervention in special education" yang dikendalikan oleh Jabatan Pendidikan Khas, Kementerian Pendidikan.
Seramai 380 orang peserta, termasuk para jemputan yang terdiri daripada pemimpin-pemimpin sekolah peringkat Rendah, Menengah, Maktab dan Pusat Tingkatan Enam dari institusi pendidikan kerajaan dan swasta di bawah Kementerian Pendidikan serta sekolah-sekolah di bawah Jabatan Pengajian Islam, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama telah menghadiri Majlis Simposium tersebut.
Bertemakan “Pemimpin Berkualiti, Pendidikan Berkualiti" dengan sub-tema “Early Intervention For Students With SEN – Ensuring Holistic Growth Through Proactive Support", simposium ini bertujuan untuk memperkukuh kesepaduan sistemik bagi Kementerian Pendidikan melalui penglibatan serta sokongan yang teguh dan mampan daripada semua pihak berkepentingan.
Simposium ini bertujuan untuk memperkukuh kapasiti dan kompetensi kepimpinan para pemimpin sekolah, di samping meningkatkan akauntabiliti bersama dalam kalangan semua pihak berkepentingan, khususnya jabatan-jabatan dan sekolah-sekolah dalam melaksanakan inisiatif-inisiatif Kementerian Pendidikan.
Turut hadir ialah Ketua-Ketua Jabatan dari Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama serta superintendan bagi sekolah-sekolah Kerajaan di bawah Kementerian Pendidikan. Majlis Simposium Pemimpin Sekolah 2025 dianjurkan oleh Jabatan Pengurusan Pendidik, Kementerian Pendidikan.
