| The Department of School Inspectorate (JKSS) plays a key role in evaluating and monitoring the quality of education in schools across Brunei Darussalam. Guided by the principles of Fathanah (Wisdom), Amanah (Trustworthiness), Sidiq (Integrity), and Tabliqh (Communication) (FAST), JKSS is committed to ensuring high educational standards in alignment with Brunei Vision 2035. |

Core Responsibilities |

1. Teacher & School Evaluation The Education Order 2003, Part X, mandates JKSS to monitor educational institutions by conducting various inspections and evaluations of teachers and schools, aiming to ensure the effectiveness and quality of education.
2. Report & Collaborations
The Education Order 2003, Part X, mandates JKSS to report on the current status of education quality and standards to the Minister of Education. Additionally, JKSS serves as a strategic partner, providing advisory services to educational institutions and stakeholders in efforts to enhance educational standards.
3. Quality Assurance
The Education Order 2003, Part X, mandates JKSS to ensure that high educational standards are continuously developed, improved, and maintained. JKSS also ensures that evaluation procedures comply with the standards set by the Ministry of Education and align with international standards.

1. Objective and consistent evaluation through the application of consistent evaluation criteria.
2. Fair and honest report, taking into considerations of school context factors.
3. Accurate and reliable judgment – reliance on first-hand evidence-based judgment on systematic procedures and methodologies.
4. Work with integrity – engaging in dialogue with members of school staff and ensuring its confidentiality.
5. Treat clients with courtesy, respect and sensitivity toward both individual teachers and the school and clarity in the manner in which findings are communicated.
6. Acknowledge learners are the ultimate beneficiaries of the evaluation process.
