GADONG –  The Ministry of Education through the Department of Scholarship Management today held an Award Ceremony for the recipients of His Majesty’s Government Scholarships for students under ‘The Chancellor’s Scholar’, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) Scholarship Scheme and the Overseas Scholarship Scheme to pursue studies at overseas institutions, as well as the Special Scholarship Scheme to pursue Secondary and Pre-University Education in Jerudong International School (JIS) and International School Brunei (ISB) for the 2026/2027 Academic Session. The ceremony was held at the Goldstone Ballroom, The Centrepoint Hotel.

Present as the Guest of Honour to present the awards was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education, Brunei Darussalam.

Also present at the ceremony was Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Deputy Minister of Education.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Kesyukuran led by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Raminey bin Haji Salleh, Chief Scholarship and Welfare Officer from the Department of Scholarship Management, followed by a Welcoming Speech by Yang Mulia Dayang Rosimah Sumaimah binti Haji Matassim, Acting Director, Department of Scholarship Management, in her capacity as the chairperson of the ceremony.

A total of three students received His Majesty’s Government Scholarship under ‘The Chancellor’s Scholar’ Scheme, UBD, to pursue Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master’s degrees, while 37 students received awards under the Overseas Scholarship Scheme at the Bachelor’s degree level. Meanwhile, 18 students at the Secondary level and 20 students at the Pre-University level were awarded His Majesty’s Government Scholarships under the Special Scholarship Scheme to International Schools.

Also present during the ceremony were Permanent Secretaries from the Ministry of Education, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam and Universiti Teknologi Brunei, Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretaries from the Ministry of Education, Officers from the Ministry of Education, officers from selected government agencies, parents of scholarship recipients as well as representatives from the international schools.

GADONG – Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pengurusan Biasiswa pada hari ini telah mengadakan Majlis Penganugerahan Biasiswa Kerajaan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia bagi pelajar-pelajar di bawah Skim ‘The Chancellor’s Scholar’, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) dan Skim Biasiswa Kerajaan Ke Luar Negeri bagi melanjutkan pengajian di institusi-institusi luar negara serta Skim Biasiswa Khas Dalam Negeri untuk mengikuti pengajian ke peringkat Menengah dan Pra-Universiti di Jerudong International School (JIS) dan International School Brunei (ISB) bagi sesi akademik 2026/2027. Majlis tersebut telah berlangsung di Goldstone Ballroom, The Centrepoint Hotel.

Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat majlis dan seterusnya menyampaikan sijil-sijil penganugerahan ialah Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Menteri Pendidikan, Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Turut hadir pada majlis tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan.

Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Doa Kesyukuran yang dipimpin oleh Yang Mulia Awang Haji Raminey bin Haji Salleh, Ketua Pegawai Dermasiswa dan Kesejahteraan, Jabatan Pengurusan Biasiswa, dan diikuti dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada Yang Mulia Dayang Rosimah Sumaimah binti Haji Matassim, Pemangku Pengarah, Jabatan Pengurusan Biasiswa, selaku Pengerusi Majlis.

Seramai 3 orang pelajar telah berjaya menerima Biasiswa Kerajaan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia di bawah Skim ‘The Chancellor’s Scholar’, UBD bagi mengikuti Ijazah Doktor Falsafah (PhD) dan Ijazah Sarjana serta 37 orang pelajar di bawah Skim Biasiswa Ke Luar Negeri di peringkat Ijazah Sarjana Muda. Manakala, seramai 18 orang pelajar di peringkat Menengah dan 20 orang pelajar di peringkat Pra-Universiti juga telah dianugerahkan Biasiswa Kerajaan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia di bawah Skim Biasiswa Khas Dalam Negeri ke Sekolah-Sekolah Antarabangsa.

Turut hadir di majlis tersebut ialah Setiausaha-Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pendidikan, Naib Canselor UBD, Naib Canselor UTB, Rektor UNISSA, Timbalan-Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pendidikan, Ketua-ketua Jabatan, Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan dan Pegawai-pegawai dari Kementerian Pendidikan, wakil pegawai-pegawai dari beberapa agensi Kerajaan serta para ibu bapa pelajar dan wakil dari sekolah-sekolah antarabangsa.
