Yang Mulia Dayang Nurulhazwa binti Haji Hashiem @ Haji Karim, Education Officer from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan, has secured First Place (Gold Award) in the ASEFClassNet Innovation Award held in conjunction with the 19th ASEF Classroom Network Conference on Future-Ready Teaching: Human Agency in the Age of AI, held in Innsbruck, Austria, from 22 to 24 September 2026. This outstanding achievement was attained through the presentation of an Innovative Teaching Practice (ITP) project by her group, Project Autonomy, which was successfully implemented at Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan.

The Ministry of Education, through the Department of Educator Management, coordinated the participation of two local educators in the conference organised by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF). In addition to Yang Mulia Dayang Nurulhazwa, Brunei Darussalam was also represented by Yang Mulia Dayang Jasdinah binti Haji Jasdi from Rimba II Secondary School.

Their participation is part of the ASEF Classroom Network School Collaboration, an online collaborative platform for secondary school educators across Asia and Europe, which has been conducted online since April this year. During the conference, both educators presented their Innovative Teaching Practice (ITP) projects, shared their experiences with fellow participants, and competed for the ASEFClassNet Innovation Award.

Themed “Future-Ready Teaching: Human Agency in the Age of AI”, the conference brought together approximately 70 secondary, vocational and high school teachers, as well as educators, researchers and policymakers from more than 30 countries across Asia and Europe to showcase their respective innovative projects. The Ministry of Education hopes that this achievement will inspire and motivate educators across the country to continue strengthening innovative teaching practices at the international level.

Yang Mulia Dayang Nurulhazwa binti Haji Hashiem @ Haji Karim, Pegawai Pendidikan dari Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan, telah meraih tempat Pertama (Gold Award) dalam Anugerah Inovasi ASEFClassNet sempena Persidangan ASEF Classroom Network ke-19 dalam Future-Ready Teaching: Human Agency in the Age of AI, yang berlangsung di Innsbruck, Austria dari 22 hingga 24 September 2026. Kejayaan cemerlang ini dicapai menerusi pembentangan projek Innovative Teaching Practice (ITP) oleh kumpulan beliau yang dinamakan ‘Project Autonomy’, yang telah dilaksanakan di Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan.

Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pengurusan Pendidik telah menyelaras penyertaan dua orang tenaga pengajar tempatan dalam persidangan anjuran Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) tersebut. Selain Yang Mulia Dayang Nurulhazwa, penyertaan Brunei Darussalam turut disertai oleh Yang Mulia Dayang Jasdinah binti Haji Jasdi dari Sekolah Menengah Rimba II.

Penyertaan ini merupakan sebahagian daripada ASEF Classroom Network School Collaboration, iaitu platform kolaborasi tenaga pengajar sekolah menengah dari negara-negara Asia dan Eropah yang telah dilaksanakan secara dalam talian sejak bulan April lalu. Semasa persidangan tersebut, kedua-dua tenaga pengajar membentangkan hasil Amalan Pengajaran Inovatif (Innovative Teaching Practice – ITP), berkongsi pengalaman dan pembelajaran bersama para peserta, serta bersaing bagi merebut Anugerah Inovasi ASEFClassNet.

Persidangan bertema ‘Future-Ready Teaching: Human Agency in the Age of AI’ ini menghimpunkan kira-kira 70 orang guru sekolah menengah, vokasional, dan sekolah tinggi, serta pendidik, penyelidik, dan pembuat dasar dari lebih 30 buah negara Asia dan Eropah bagi membentangkan projek inovasi masing-masing.

Kementerian Pendidikan berharap agar pencapaian ini dapat memberi inspirasi dan membakar semangat para pendidik di negara ini untuk terus memperkasakan amalan pengajaran berinovasi di peringkat antarabangsa.
