BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN –Ministry of Education through the Department of Co-curriculum Education as the Sports Events Committee for the Teacher’s Day Celebration, in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, this morning jointly held a Walkathon in conjunction with the 36th Teachers’ Day Celebration 2026, held at Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas.

The Guests of Honour who subsequently flagged off the Walkathon were Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education.

Also present at the walkathon was Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Deputy Minister of Education.

The three-kilometre Walkathon, which started and concluded at Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas, was one of the recreational activities organised to enliven and commemorate the 36th Teachers’ Day Celebration 2026.

The event aimed to strengthen ties amongst personnel of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and members of the public. It is also sought to promote the emotional, mental and social well-being of participants, in line with the national aspiration of fostering a ‘Healthy Lifestyle’, while further enlivening the Bandarku Ceria Programme.

In addition to the Walkathon, this year also featured the ‘Acara Sukan Ria’ (Fun Sports Event) held in conjunction with the National Family Day 2026, organised by the Department of Schools, the Department of Private Education, and Laksamana College of Business (LCB).

Following the Walkathon, the Guests of Honour toured several accompanying activities held as part of the event, followed by the presentation of prizes to the winners of the Active School Leaders Challenge Programme, jointly organised by the Department of Schools and the Brunei Darussalam School Leaders Council (MPSBD).

Also in attendance were Permanent Secretaries, Vice-Chancellors, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Ra’es KUPU SB, Heads of Departments, officers, school leaders, teachers and staff from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

ACARA WALKATHON SEMPENA SAMBUTAN HARI GURU KE-36, TAHUN 2026

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum selaku Jawatankuasa Acara-Acara bagi Sambutan Hari Guru, dengan kerjasama Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama pada pagi ini telah mengadakan Acara Walkathon Sempena Sambutan Hari Guru Ke-36, Tahun 2026 yang bertempat di Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas.

Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat dan seterusnya melancarkan pelepasan peserta Walkathon ialah Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Menteri Pendidikan.

Turut hadir semasa acara walkathon tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan.

Acara walkathon sejauh tiga kilometer yang bermula dan berakhir di Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas merupakan antara aktiviti riadah yang dianjurkan bagi memeriahkan Sambutan Hari Guru Ke-36, Tahun 2026.

Penganjuran acara tersebut bertujuan untuk memperkukuh hubungan silaturahim dalam kalangan warga Kementerian Pendidikan, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama serta masyarakat umum. Di samping itu, acara ini turut menyokong usaha meningkatkan kesejahteraan emosi, mental dan sosial para peserta, selaras dengan hasrat negara dalam membudayakan ‘Cara Hidup Sihat’, serta memeriahkan lagi Program Bandarku Ceria.

Di samping acara walkathon, pada tahun ini juga diadakan Acara Sukan Ria Sempena Hari Keluarga Kebangsaan Tahun 2026, anjuran Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Jabatan Pendidikan Swasta dan Laksamana College of Business (LCB). Acara yang terbuka kepada warga Kementerian Pendidikan dan orang awam ini telah menampilkan pelbagai aktiviti menarik.

Sejurus selepas acara walkathon, Tetamu Kehormat berkesudian mengadakan lawatan ke beberapa aktiviti sampingan yang diadakan, diikuti dengan penyampaian hadiah kepada para pemenang Program Cabaran Aktif Pemimpin Sekolah, anjuran bersama Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah dan Majlis Pemimpin Sekolah Brunei Darussalam (MPSBD).

Turut hadir ialah Setiausaha-Setiausaha Tetap, Naib-Naib Canselor, Timbalan-Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, Ra’es KUPU SB, Ketua-Ketua Jabatan, pegawai-pegawai, pemimpin-pemimpin sekolah, guru-guru serta kakitangan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama.
