The five Maqasid (preservation of religion, life, intellect,
lineage and wealth) serve as an ethical compass that
complements international frameworks in evaluating AI
adoption in education.
By adopting the Seven Principles for Ethical AI in
Education recommended in the TeachAI Toolkit, the
Ministry of Education ensures AI use is guided by both
global standards and Negara Brunei Darussalam’s
values, faith, culture and community. This alignment
promotes inclusivity and ensures technology
strengthens rather than weakens society.
