The Ministry of Education through the Department of Co-Curriculum Education today held the Closing Ceremony of the 1st Brunei Darussalam Schools Games (BDSG) at Kompleks Sukan Tutong.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education.
The Brunei Darussalam Schools Games Tournament is a competition organized for the first time by the Ministry of Education which has taken place for ten (10) days starting from 19 to 28 November 2022.
Among the goals of this tournament is to identify students (under 18 years of age) who have the potential and talent to represent the Brunei Darussalam Schools Sports Council (MS SSBD) to tournaments at the national, regional and international levels as well as in preparation for participation in the tournament organized by the Asian Schools Sports Federation (ASSF) and the ASEAN Schools Sports Council (ASSC).
The ceremony started with the athletics finals of the Men's 4 x 400m event; 4 x 400m Girls; Men's Special Needs 100m; 100m Women with Special Needs; Men's 4 x 100m; 4 x 100m Girls.
The event continued with the Contingent Parade led by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) Band and the aerobics performance from the champion of the Primary School Aerobic Competition 2022.
The event was followed by the presentation of the overall Best Sportsman and Sportswoman Award presented by the Guest of Honor to Awang Zeke Chan Zhi Yue from Jerudong International School (Cluster 2) and Dayang Hayley Wong Ann Yue from Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna (Cluster 2).
The event then continued with the presentation of the Overall Champion Award for the 1st Brunei Darussalam Schools Games which was won by Cluster 3, the Runner-up was won by Cluster 1 while the Third Place was won by Cluster 2.
The event ended with the announcement of the official closing of the 1st Brunei Darussalam Schools Games which was completed by the Guest of Honour.
Also present were Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Heads of departments, officers from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

MAJLIS PENUTUP
KEJOHANAN SUKAN SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH BRUNEI DARUSSALAM KE-1
Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum pada hari ini telah mengadakan Majlis Penutup Kejohanan Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Brunei Darussalam Ke-1 atau 1st Brunei Darussalam Schools Games (BDSG) yang berlangsung di Kompleks Sukan Tutong.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat pada majlis berkenaan ialah Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Menteri Pendidikan.
Kejohanan Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Brunei Darussalam merupakan pertandingan yang buat julung kalinya dianjurkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan yang telah berjalan selama sepuluh (10) hari iaitu bermula pada 19 hingga 28 November 2022.
Antara matlamat kejohanan ini ialah untuk mengenal pasti para pelajar berumur 18 tahun kebawah yang berpotensi dan berbakat bagi mewakili Majlis Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Brunei Darussalam (MS SSBD) ke kejohanan-kejohanan di peringkat kebangsaan, serantau dan antarabangsa serta sebagai persediaan kepada penyertaan kejohanan anjuran Asian Schools Sports Federation (ASSF) dan ASEAN Schools Sports Council (ASSC).
Majlis dimulakan dengan perlawanan peringkat akhir sukan olahraga iaitu acara bagi 4 x 400m Lelaki; 4 x 400m Perempuan; 100m Lelaki Berkeperluan Khas; 100m Perempuan Berkeperluan Khas; 4 x 100m Lelaki; dan 4 x 100m Perempuan.
Acara diteruskan dengan perbarisan lalu kontinjen yang didahului oleh Pancaragam Kadet Polis Diraja Brunei dan seterusnya persembahan senamrobik dari Juara Pertandingan Senam Robik Sekolah Rendah Tahun 2022.
Acara diikuti dengan penyampaian Anugerah Olahragawan dan Olahragawati Terbaik keseluruhan yang disampaikan oleh Tetamu Kehormat Majlis kepada Awang Zeke Chan Zhi Yue dari Jerudong International School (Kluster 2) dan Dayang Hayley Wong Ann Yue dari Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Masna (Kluster 2).
Acara diteruskan lagi dengan penyampaian Anugerah Johan Keseluruhan bagi Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Brunei Darussalam Ke-1 yang dimenangi oleh Kluster 3, Naib Johan diraih oleh Kluster 1 sementara Tempat Ketiga disandang oleh Kluster 2.
Acara diakhiri dengan pengisytiharan penutupan rasmi Kejohanan Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Brunei Darussalam Ke-1 yang disempurnakan oleh Tetamu Kehormat.
Turut hadir ialah Setiausaha-Setiausaha Tetap, Timbalan-Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, Ketua-Ketua Jabatan dan Pegawai-Pegawai dari Kementerian Pendidikan, Kementerian Hal-Ehwal Ugama dan Kementerian Kebudayaan Belia dan Sukan.
