Present as guest of honour was Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin,
Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education.

The event began with a welcoming remark by Yang Mulia Dr. Hajah Sallimah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting
Director of the Department of Planning, Development and Research, Ministry of Education. This was
followed by an opening presentation titled ‘Introducing PBCTrain’ by Yang Mulia Dr. Siti Noor Naasirah
Syahiirah Abdullah Teo, Head of Research and Planning Section, Department of Planning, Development
and Research as a learning facilitator and designer of the PBCTrain Programme. The presentation
continued with an account on the technical aspects of the PBCTrain and the predictive modelling delivered
by Yang Mulia Dr. Asem Kasem, Lead Consultant and Training Facilitator of the PBCTrain.



The event was followed by presentations on the five sub-project sets under the PBCTrain with the
following topics: Process Mining on Teachers Selection and Recruitment Process; Identifying Students at
Risk of Dropout for Secondary School Level; Predicting Students’ Performance in GCE ‘O’ Level English
Language Subject; Modelling on Factors of How Teachers Performance Affects Students Achievement in
Literacy and Predicting Students’ First Choice of Higher Education Programs after ‘O’ Level.

The event concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation and training completion to 26 officers from the Minister of Education’s Office; the Permanent Secretary (Higher Education)’s Office; the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education)’s Office; the Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education)’s Office; Department of Planning, Development and Research; Department of Schools; Department of Educator’s Management; Department of Inspectorate; Department of Examinations; Department of Higher Education and Brunei Darussalam Leadership and Teacher Academy (BDLTA).


The main objective of the session is to showcase the learning experiences and challenges throughout the PBCTrain journey. The presentation also intended to display the achievement of the PBCTrain in the capacity development of participants. The ability of the five teams to present project findings, despite no prior background to big data analytics before embarking into the PBCTrain demonstrates the acquisition of new skills and knowledge in the area, which also has the potential for further development.
Also present at the event were Heads of Department, Senior Officers, and Officers from the Ministry of Education.

SESI COFFEE WITH DP: PEMBENTANGAN PROGRAM PROJECT-BASED CONSULTANCY
AND TRAINING (PBCTRAIN) IN BIG DATA ANALYTICS FOR EDUCATION
Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Perancangan, Perkembangan dan Penyelidikan pada
hari ini telah mengadakan sesi Coffee with DP dengan pembentangan Program Project-Based Consultancy
and Training (PBCTrain) in Big Data Analytics for Education di Dewan Utama, Kementerian Pendidikan
menggunakan kaedah hybrid, iaitu secara bersemuka dan di dalam talian.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat ialah Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin,
Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Kementerian Pendidikan.
Acara dimulakan dengan ucapan kata alu-aluan oleh Yang Mulia Dr. Hajah Sallimah binti Haji Mohd Salleh,
Pemangku Pengarah Jabatan Perancangan, Perkembangan dan Penyelidikan, Kementerian Pendidikan.
Acara diteruskan dengan pembukaan pembentangan bertajuk Introducing PBCTrain oleh Yang Mulia Dr.
Siti Noor Naasirah Syahiirah Abdullah Teo, Ketua Bahagian Penyelidikan dan Perancangan, Jabatan
Perancangan, Perkembangan dan Penyelidikan selaku fasilitator dan pereka bentuk Program PBCTrain.
Selain itu, penerangan mengenai aspek teknikal PBCTrain dan huraian pemodelan ramalan telah
disampaikan oleh Yang Mulia Dr. Asem Kasem, Ketua Konsultan dan Fasilitator Program PBCTrain.
Acara pada pagi ini juga menyaksikan pembentangan daripada lima kumpulan projek di bawah PBCTrain
dengan tajuk-tajuk berikut: Process Mining on Teachers Selection and Recruitment Process; Identifying

Seterusnya majlis diakhiri dengan penyampaian sijil penghargaan dan tamat latihan kepada 26 orang para
pegawai yang terdiri daripada Pejabat Menteri Pendidikan; Pejabat Setiausaha Tetap (Pengajian Tinggi);
Pejabat Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Pengajian Tinggi); Pejabat Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan
Teras); Jabatan Perancangan, Perkembangan dan Penyelidikan; Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah; Jabatan
Pengurusan Pendidik; Jabatan Kenaziran; Jabatan Peperiksaan; Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi dan Brunei
Darussalam Leadership and Teacher Academy (BDLTA).
Antara objektif utama pembentangan tersebut adalah untuk mempamerkan pengalaman-pengalaman
pembelajaran dan cabaran-cabaran yang ditempuhi oleh para peserta sepanjang menjalani latihan
PBCTrain. Selain itu, pembentangan juga bertujuan untuk memaparkan pencapaian PBCTrain dalam
pembangunan kapasiti peserta-peserta. Keupayaan lima pasukan untuk melaksanakan pembentangan
penemuan projek mereka, walaupun tiada latar belakang Big Data Analytics sebelum menjalani Program
PBCTrain tersebut menunjukkan kejayaan besar dalam memperolehi kemahiran dan ilmu pengetahuan
yang baru dalam bidang Big Data Analytics, dan ianya sangat berpotensi untuk dikembangkan ke peringkat
selanjutnya.
Turut hadir, Ketua-Ketua Jabatan, Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan dan Pegawai-Pegawai Kementerian
Pendidikan.
