CERTIFICATE PRESENTATION CEREMONY FOR PRE-VOCATIONAL PROGRAMME STUDENTS,
2019-2023 SESSION

BERAKAS – The Ministry of Education through the Department of Special Education today held a Certificate Presentation Ceremony for Pre-Vocational Programme Students, 2019-2023 Session at Dewan Mahkota, Times Hotel Brunei.

Present as Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Awang Mohammad Erwan bin Awang Haji Mohammad Said, the Chairman of the Shell LiveWire Brunei.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by a Welcoming Speech by Yang Mulia Awang Eddy Fazlin bin Haji Amdan, Acting Head of the Department of Special Education as Chairperson of the event.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of certificates by the Guest of Honour to 78 students who had completed the Pre-Vocational Programme for the 2019-2023 session and 21 teachers who were officially appointed as Special Education Needs Support Educators (SENSE). Certificates and token of appreciation were also presented 12 companies involved in the work placement of students who participated in the Pre-Vocational Programme as well as to Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Maimunah binti Haji Pudin from the Junjongan Primary School, a Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher who have recently retired from service.

 
The Pre-Vocational Programme is a 5-year programme designed specifically to meet the needs of students with special needs in several government secondary schools. This programme aims to provide appropriate learning for students with special characteristics to enable them to gain independent living skills such as functional academic skills, social and communication skills, self-management skills, basic vocational skills and work skills based on the Individualised Education Plan of which is according to the individual's own level and abilities.

In addition, Pre-Vocational Programme products such as handcrafts, food, drinks and crops produced by Pre-Vocational Programme students from 15 secondary schools were also showcased to further enliven the ceremony.

Also present were directors, assistant directors, senior officials from the Ministry of Education, government agencies involved, parents and guardians, Home-Room Teachers (HRT), school leaders as well as representatives from the corporate sector and officers from the Department of Special Education.

MAJLIS PENYAMPAIAN SIJIL BAGI PELAJAR PROGRAM PRA-VOKASIONAL,

BERAKAS – Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pendidikan Khas, pada hari ini telah mengadakan Majlis Penyampaian Sijil Bagi Pelajar Program Pra-Vokasional Sesi 2019-2023 bertempat di Dewan Mahkota, Times Hotel Brunei.

Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Yang Mulia Awang Mohammad Erwan bin Awang Haji Mohammad Said, Pengerusi Shell LiveWire Brunei.

Acara dimulakan dengan bacaan surah Al-Fatihah dan doa selamat diikuti dengan ucapan alu-aluan yang disampaikan oleh Yang Mulia Awang Eddy Fazlin bin Haji Amdan, Pemangku Ketua Jabatan Pendidikan Khas selaku Pengerusi Majlis.

Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil oleh Tetamu Kehormat kepada 78 orang pelajar yang telah menamatkan Program Pra-Vokasional sesi 2019-2023 dan 21 orang guru yang dilantik secara rasmi sebagai Special Education Needs Support Educators (SENSE). Sijil penghargaan dan cenderahati juga telah disampaikan kepada 12 buah syarikat yang terlibat dalam penempatan kerja pelajar-pelajar yang mengikuti Program Pra-Vokasional dan kepda Guru Pendidikan Khas (guru SEN) yang baru bersara daripada perkhidmatan iaitu Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Maimunah binti Haji Pudin dari Sekolah Rendah Junjongan.

Program Pra-Vokasional adalah program 5 tahun yang dirancang khusus untuk memenuhi keperluan pelajar berkeperluan khas di beberapa buah sekolah menengah kerajaan. Program ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan pembelajaran yang bersesuaian bagi pelajar-pelajar yang mempunyai ciri-ciri khusus bagi membolehkan mereka mendapat kemahiran hidup berdikari seperti seperti kemahiran akademik berfungsi, kemahiran sosial dan komunikasi, kemahiran pengurusan diri, kemahiran asas vokasional dan kemahiran kerja berpandukan kepada Rancangan Pendidikan Individu (Individualised Education Plan, IEP) masing-masing mengikut tahap dan kebolehan individu itu sendiri.

Selain itu, produk Program Pra-Vokasional seperti hasil kraf tangan, makanan, minuman serta hasil tanaman pelajar-pelajar Program Pra-Vokasional dari 15 buah sekolah menengah juga dipamerkan (showcased) bagi memeriahkan lagi suasana majlis.

Turut hadir ialah Pengarah-Pengarah, Penolong-Penolong Pengarah, Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan Kementerian Pendidikan, agensi-agensi kerajaan yang terlibat, ibu bapa dan penjaga, guru-guru “Home-Room" (Home-Room Teachers, HRT), pemimpin-pemimpin sekolah serta wakil dari sektor korporat dan pegawai-pegawai dari Jabatan Pendidikan Khas.
