6TH CELIK-BIZ COMPETITION AND 11TH BIGSTART COMPETITION CONVENTION FOR
PRIMARY AND SECONDARY STUDENTS AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL

TUNGKU – The Ministry of Education today held a convention for the 6th Celik-Biz Competition and the 11th BigStart Competition for primary and secondary students respectively nationwide under the purview of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs at the Multipurpose Hall, Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Hj Abdul Rahman, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam.
The convention began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa led Yang Mulia Ustaz Muhammad Irfan bin Haji Aliakbar, Pegawai Pelajaran, Department of Islamic Studies, Ministry of Religious Affairs. The event continued with a welcoming speech from Yang Mulia Awang Adna Shatriremie bin Hj A. Abdul Rahman, Head of Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre (EIC), Ministry of Education.
The convention was enlivened with a Pitching competition from the participants of the Celik-Biz and the BigStart competitions. The event continued with a short video clip featuring activities throughout the competition followed by the prize presentation by the Guest of Honour.
The Celik-Biz Competition is an entrepreneurship and innovation education competition for Primary School students in Years 4 and 5, while the BigStart competition is for secondary school and college students in Years 9 and 10 to develop creative and innovative prototypes, portfolios, and pitching videos based on 4 selected sub-themes. In addition, BigStart contestants are also required to produce a Business Model Canvas. The theme for this year's competition is Innovation in Entrepreneurship with 4 sub-themes: Innovation, Edutainment, Digitalisation and Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0).
Among the objectives of this competition is to enhance students' creativity, pragmatic and realistic thinking, and innovative approaches in planning a project based on entrepreneurial elements, as well as to improve aspects related to the surrounding environment, in line with this year's sub-theme. In addition, this competition also aims to provide students with life skills that shape them to be more independent, proactive, competitive and independent, in line with the demands of 21st Century skills in education which includes the elements of 6C (Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Character, Communication, Creativity, Citizenship).
This competition also aims to support and ensure alignment with the Ministry of Education's Strategic Plan 2023-2027 in efforts to enhance student competencies through Strategic Objective 1, which is to Nurture Future-Ready Learners, and Strategic Objective 2, which is to Enhance Innovative Education Ecosystem.
The champion for the 6th Celik-Biz Competition was won by Ceradik team from Sekolah Rendah Pengiran Kesuma Negara, Bukit Beruang Tutong with the product called Lakastah Membaca. The first runner-up was won by the Hydro team from Sekolah Rendah Rimba III, with the product called Manual Drip Water Irrigation Systems (DWIS) for Seedlings and second runner-up was won by the Qahfs from Sekolah Arab Belait with the product called Kamus Ar-Raqmi.
The champion for the 11th BigStart Competition was won by B.I.J.A.Q team from Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Hasan with the product called the Techno Bin, while the first runner-up was The Arabic Wizards from Ma'had Islam Brunei with the product called SPUD and the second runner-up was SwapSmart from Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan with product called SwapSmart.
Also attending the ceremony were Heads of Departments, Officers as well as School Leaders under the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs and external agencies. The competition was organised by the Entrepreneurship Innovation Centre (EIC), Ministry of Education.

TUNGKU - Kementerian Pendidikan pada hari ini telah mengadakan Majlis Konvensyen Pertandingan Celik-Biz Kali Ke-6 bagi pelajar-pelajar sekolah rendah seluruh negara dan Pertandingan BigStart Kali Ke-11 bagi sekolah menengah dan maktab seluruh negara di bawah kawalan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama yang diadakan di Dewan Serbaguna, Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat bagi majlis tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Awang Aliuddin bin Hj Abdul Rahman, Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Kementerian Pendidikan, Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Majlis didahului dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Doa Selamat diketuai oleh Yang Mulia Ustaz Muhammad Irfan bin Haji Aliakbar, Pegawai Pelajaran, Jabatan Pengajian Islam, Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama dan diikuti dengan ucapan alu-aluan daripada Yang Mulia Awang Adna Shatriremie bin Haji A. Abdul Rahman, Ketua Pusat Keusahawanan Inovasi (EIC), Kementerian Pendidikan.
Majlis diserikan lagi dengan pertandingan Pitching daripada para peserta Pertandingan Celik-Biz dan Pertandingan BigStart. Majlis diteruskan dengan tayangan video pendek yang memaparkan aktiviti-aktiviti sepanjang pertandingan dijalankan, diikuti dengan penyampaian hadiah dan sijil-sijil kepada pemenang-pemenang pertandingan oleh Tetamu Kehormat.
Pertandingan Celik-Biz ialah pertandingan pendidikan keusahawanan dan inovasi bagi pelajar-pelajar Sekolah Rendah Tahun 4 dan 5, manakala pertandingan BigStart adalah bagi pelajar-pelajar Sekolah Menengah dan Maktab Tahun 9 dan 10 untuk menghasilkan prototaip yang kreatif dan inovatif, portfolio serta video pembentangan (pitching) mengikut 4 sub-tema yang dipilih. Sebagai tambahan, peserta pertandingan BigStart juga dikehendaki untuk menghasilkan Business Model Canvas. Tema pertandingan bagi tahun ini ialah Innovation in Entrepreneurship dengan 4 sub-tema iaitu Innovation, Edutainment, Digitalisation dan Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0).
Antara tujuan pertandingan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kreativiti, pemikiran pragmatik dan realistik, serta pendekatan inovatif pelajar dalam merancang projek yang berasaskan elemen keusahawanan, serta menambah baik aspek yang berkaitan dengan persekitaran sekeliling, selaras dengan sub-tema tahun ini. Selain itu, pertandingan ini juga bertujuan untuk membekalkan pelajar dengan kemahiran hidup yang membentuk mereka menjadi lebih mandiri, proaktif, berdaya saing serta berdikari, selaras dengan tuntutan kemahiran Abad Ke-21 dalam pendidikan yang merangkumi elemen 6C (Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Character, Communication, Creativity, Citizenship).
Pertandingan ini juga bertujuan untuk mendukung dan memastikan keselarasan dengan Pelan Strategik Kementerian Pendidikan 2023-2027 dalam usaha meningkatkan kompetensi pelajar melalui Strategik Objektif 1 iaitu Nurture Future-Ready Learners dan Strategik Objektif 2 iaitu Enhance Innovative Education Ecosystem.
Bagi Pertandingan Celik-Biz Kali Ke-6, Juara dimenangi oleh Ceradik dari Sekolah Rendah Pengiran Kesuma Negara, Bukit Beruang Tutong, dengan nama produk Lakastah Membaca. Tempat Kedua diraih oleh Kumpulan Hydro dari Sekolah Rendah Rimba III, dengan nama produk Manual Drip Water Irrigation Systems (DWIS) for Seedlings. Manakala Tempat Ketiga dimenangi oleh Kumpulan Qahfs dari Sekolah Arab Belait dengan nama produk Kamus Ar-Raqmi.
Bagi Pertandingan BigStart Kali Ke-11, Juara disandang oleh Kumpulan B.I.J.A.Q dari Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Hasan dengan nama produk Techno Bin. Manakala kumpulan The Arabic Wizards dengan nama produk SPUD dari Sekolah Ma'had Islam Brunei telah berjaya meraih tempat kedua dan tempat ketiga disandang oleh Kumpulan SwapSmart dari Chung Hwa Middle School, Bandar Seri Begawan nama produk mereka SwapSmart.
Turut menghadiri majlis tersebut ialah Ketua-Ketua Jabatan, Pegawai-Pegawai serta Pemimpin-Pemimpin Sekolah di bawah Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama dan agensi-agensi luar. Pertandingan berkenaan dikendalikan oleh Pusat Keusahawanan Inovasi (EIC), Kementerian Pendidikan.
