OFFICIAL CLOSING CEREMONY OF
THE 2ND BRUNEI DARUSSALAM SCHOOL GAMES (BDSG) CHAMPIONSHIP, 2024

BERAKAS - The Ministry of Education through the Department of Co-Curriculum Education today held the Official Closing Ceremony of the 2nd Brunei Darussalam School Games (BDSG) Championship, 2024 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, the Minister of Education.
The event commenced with the singing of the Brunei Darussalam National Anthem, followed by the Final Stage of the Athletics events, featuring the 100 metres (Male with Special Needs), 100 metres (Female with Special Needs), 4 x 100 metres (Male), and 4 x 100 metres (Female). The event continued with the parade of Contingents and Technical Officials.
The event was then followed by the presentation of awards for Best Male Athlete, Best Female Athlete, Overall Champion, Overall Runner-up and Third Place Overall, presented by the Guest of Honour.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of medals for the 4 x 100 metres (Male) and 4 x 100 metres (Female) events, presented by Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education). Following this, the medals for the 100 metres (Male with Special Needs) and 100 metres (Female with Special Needs) events were presented by Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education).
The ceremony concluded with the Official Closing of the 2nd Brunei Darussalam Schools Games (BDSG) Championship, 2024 by the Guest of Honour. This year, BDSG features a total of seven (7) sports events, namely Netball, Basketball, Badminton, Swimming, Sepak Takraw, Pencak Silat and Athletics, which officially started on 18 November 2024.
This championship is a consolidation of sports competitions previously organised by the Department of Co-Curriculum Education, with its systems and formats upgraded in line with preparations for participation and hosting of championships organised by the Asian Schools Sports Federation (ASSF) and the ASEAN Schools Sports Council (ASSC).
This year’s championship features the participation of 911 student-athletes and 323 contingent officials. Furthermore, the event involves 970 individuals comprising members of the Management Committee, the Technical Committee, as well as volunteers.
Also present were the Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and Officers from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

BERAKAS - Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum pada hari ini telah mengadakan Majlis Penutupan Rasmi Kejohanan Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Brunei Darussalam (BDSG) Kali Ke-2, Tahun 2024 yang berlangsung di Stadium Negara Hassanal Bolkiah.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Menteri Pendidikan.
Acara dimulakan dengan nyanyian Lagu Kebangsaan Negara Brunei Darussalam diikuti
dengan pertandingan peringkat akhir bagi acara olahraga iaitu 100 meter (Berkeperluan Khas
Lelaki), 100 meter (Berkeperluan Khas Perempuan), 4 x 100 meter (Lelaki) dan 4 x 100 meter
(Perempuan). Acara diteruskan dengan perbarisan lalu Kontingen dan Pegawai-Pegawai
Teknikal.
Acara diteruskan dengan penyampaian hadiah bagi Olahragawan, Olahragawati, Johan
Keseluruhan, Naib Johan Keseluruhan dan Tempat Ketiga Keseluruhan yang telah
disempurnakan oleh Tetamu Kehormat.
Acara turut menyaksikan penyampaian pingat-pingat bagi acara 4 x 100 meter (Lelaki) dan 4
x 100 meter (Perempuan) yang disempurnakan oleh Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad,
Setiausaha Tetap (Pengajian Tinggi). Seterusnya, penyampaian pingat-pingat bagi Acara 100
meter (Berkeperluan Khas Lelaki) dan 100 meter (Berkeperluan Khas Perempuan) juga telah
disempurnakan oleh Yang Mulia Dr. Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin,
Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras).
Majlis diakhiri dengan Penutupan Rasmi Kejohanan Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah Brunei
Darussalam (BDSG) Kali Ke-2, Tahun 2024 oleh Tetamu Kehormat. Pada tahun ini, BDSG
mempertandingkan sebanyak tujuh (7) acara sukan, iaitu Bola Jaring, Bola Keranjang,
Badminton, Renang, Sepak Takraw, Pencak Silat dan Olahraga, yang telah dirasmikan bermula
pada 18 November 2024.
