Announcement on Higher Education Centralised Admission System HECAS 2016 (1st Round) Online Application

HECAS 2016 (1st Round) online application to local higher education institutions, i.e. Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB), Politeknik Brunei (PB) and for the Brunei Government Overseas Scholarship under the Ministry of Education for the academic year 2016/2017 will commence on Thursday, 25 February 2016 after 8:00 a.m. The programme levels on offered are Diploma Level 4 or 5, Higher National Diploma, Upgrading programme and 1st Degree programmes. The closing date of HECAS 2016 (1st Round) is set on Tuesday, 15 March 2016 after 4:30 p.m.
Applicants who wish to apply for overseas scholarship MUST also apply for at least ONE programme offered by local higher education institutions. Applicants are advised to submit all relevant hardcopy including printed HECAS form to institution applied before or not later than 3 working days after the HECAS closing date.
The HECAS online application is opened for holders of valid Brunei Darussalam issued identity cards (yellow/purple/green). However, only citizens of Brunei Darussalam (yellow I.C. holders) who have at least a Credit C6 in Bahasa Melayu in Brunei Cambridge GCE 'O' Level examination can apply for scholarship (local or overseas). HECAS does not process applications of government servants applying for in-service training or foreign applicants who do not have valid Brunei Darussalam issued IC.

Please visit the Ministry of Education's portal at http://moe.gov.bn or the HECAS portal at http://www.hecas.edu.bn for latest information on the programmes offered and entry requirement set by each institution. Applicants can also follow the step by step instructions on ways to register using mobile phone and to fill in the HECAS online form given in 'Guidelines' posted in the HECAS portal.
