FINAL STAGE OF THE 3RD AL-QURAN MEMORISATION COMPETITION

FOR STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS IN GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOLS NATIONWIDE

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN–  The Ministry of Education through the Department of Special Education today held the Final Stage of the Al-Quran Memorisation Competition for Students with Special Educational Needs in Government Primary Schools Nationwide at the Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Hajah Norjum binti Haji Yusop, President of FITRAH Association.

This competition was organised for the third time by the Department of Special Education, which was participated by 54 students with special educational needs representing government primary schools from clusters 1 to 6. A total of 6 male students and 6 female students from 12 government primary schools successfully advanced to the final stage.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by the final stage competition. The ceremony continued with the video presentation of the semi-final match and a Nasyeed performance titled 'Hayya Nadzkurullah' by students with special educational needs from Sekolah Rendah Rendah Rimba II.

The ceremony concluded with presentation of prizes to the winners and consolation prizes and certificates of participation to the participants by the Guest of Honour.

Md Qais Zulqarnain bin Md Hadi Sumardi from Sekolah Rendah Awang Haji Mohd Yusof Katimahar was announced first place in the Male Category and Noor Nayla Naufalyn @ Alaila binti Md Syarqawi from Sekolah Rendah Mabohai topped the Female Category. Second place in the Male Category was Md. Rafa Muttaqin bin Haji Samrin from Sekolah Rendah Sengkurong and second place in the Female Category was Siti Nur Aisyah binti Abdullah from Sekolah Rendah Datu Ratna Haji Muhammad Jaafar Kiarong. Meanwhile the third place was achieved by Md Adam Ashraff bin Abdullah from Sekolah Rendah Lumapas for the Male Category and Nur Amniya Damia binti Azeme from Sekolah Rendah Dato Othman for the Female Category.

Among the main objectives of this competition was to integrate the reading of the Al-Quran into the daily routine of students and foster a deeper understanding of the holy verses of the Al-Quran. In addition, it upholds the concept of Inclusive Education, particularly the 'APA' principle, namely Access, Participate and Achieve to ensure that students with special educational needs have equal opportunities in various fields, including mastering the recitation of the Al-Quran.

Also present during the competition were senior officials from the Ministry of Education, school leaders as well as parents.

PERINGKAT AKHIR PERTANDINGAN MENGHAFAZ AL-QURAN BAGI PELAJAR-PELAJAR BERKEPERLUAN KHAS SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH RENDAH KERAJAAN SENEGARA KALI KE-3

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pendidikan Khas pada hari ini telah mengadakan Peringkat Akhir Pertandingan Hafazan Al-Quran Khusus Bagi Pelajar-Pelajar Berkeperluan Khas dari Sekolah-Sekolah Rendah Kerajaan bertempat di Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat ialah Yang Mulia Hajah Norjum binti Haji Yusop, Yang Di-Pertua Persatuan Pendidikan Khas (FITRAH).

Pertandingan ini merupakan kali ketiga dianjurkan oleh Jabatan Pendidikan Khas yang disertai oleh 54 orang pelajar berkeperluan khas yang mewakili sekolah-sekolah rendah kerajaan dari kluster 1 hingga 6. Seramai 6 orang pelajar lelaki dan 6 orang pelajar perempuan dari 12 buah sekolah rendah kerajaan telah berjaya memasuki pusingan akhir.

Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Doa Selamat diikuti dengan pertandingan peringkat akhir. Majlis diteruskan dengan tayangan video sekitar pertandingan separuh akhir dan persembahan Nasyid bertajuk 'Hayya Nadzkurullah' oleh pelajar-pelajar berkeperluan khas dari Sekolah Rendah Rimba II.

Majlis diakhiri dengan penyampaian hadiah kepada para pemenang dan hadiah saguhati serta sijil penyertaan kepada para peserta yang disempurnakan oleh Tetamu Kehormat.

Md Qais Zulqarnain bin Md Hadi Sumardi dari Sekolah Rendah Awang Haji Mohd Yusof Katimahar diumumkan sebagai juara dalam Kategori Lelaki manakala Noor Nayla Naufalyn @ Alaila binti Md Syarqawi dari Sekolah Rendah Mabohai menduduki tempat pertama dalam Kategori Perempuan. Tempat kedua dalam Kategori Lelaki diperoleh oleh Md. Rafa Muttaqin bin Haji Samrin dari Sekolah Rendah Sengkurong dan tempat kedua dalam Kategori Perempuan diperoleh oleh Siti Nur Aisyah binti Abdullah dari Sekolah Rendah Datu Ratna Haji Muhammad Jaafar Kiarong. Sementara itu, tempat ketiga disandang oleh Md Adam Ashraff bin Abdullah dari Sekolah Rendah Lumapas dalam Kategori Lelaki dan Nur Amniya Damia binti Azeme dari Sekolah Rendah Dato Othman dalam Kategori Perempuan.

Antara objektif utama pertandingan ini adalah untuk mengintegrasikan bacaan Al-Quran ke dalam rutin harian pelajar dan memupuk pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran. Selain itu, ia memperjuangkan konsep Pendidikan Inklusif, khususnya prinsip 'APA', iaitu Mengakses (Access), Menyertai (Participate) dan Mencapai (Achieve) bagi memastikan pelajar berkeperluan khas mempunyai peluang yang sama dalam pelbagai bidang, termasuk menguasai bacaan Al-Quran.

Turut hadir ke pertandingan tersebut ialah pegawai-pegawai kanan dari Kementerian Pendidikan, pemimpin-pemimpin sekolah serta para ibu bapa.
