THE STUDENT EXCELLENCE AWARD CEREMONY 2024

TUNGKU – The Ministry of Education through the Department of Schools, the Department of Examinations, the Department of Private Education and the Department of Special Education in collaboration with the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) today held The Student Excellence Ceremony 2024 for students who achieved excellence in the Brunei-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level; International Baccalaureate (IB); Pearson Edexcel UK/GCE International Advanced Level; Brunei-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level and IGCSE; Pearson BTEC Level 2 and Level 3 Extended Certificate; and Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (PSR) Examinations at the Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education, Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Al-Quran verses by Yang Mulia Awangku Luqman 'Amri Al-Hakeem bin Pengiran Asmali @ Pengiran Ali Shafie, Year 13 student from Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah Student, followed by a welcoming speech by Yang Mulia Awang Shahrizal bin Haji Emran, Acting Director of Examinations, Department of Examinations, Ministry of Education as Co-Chairperson of the event. The ceremony proceeded with the presentation of awards to the students by the Guest of Honour and ended with the recitation of a Doa Selamat led by Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Wafiy bin Awang Mohammad, Mosque Affairs Officer, Masjid Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
A total of 192 students from government primary and secondary schools, colleges and sixth form centres, as well as private and international schools nationwide have received awards according to the specified categories which are:
1. Cambridge Outstanding Achiever Awards Brunei-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level;
2. Cambridge Outstanding Achiever Awards Brunei-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level;
3. Brunei-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level;
4. Brunei-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level Special Education Award;
5. International Baccalaureate (IB);
6. Pearson Edexcel UK GCE / International Advanced Level;
7. Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma;
8. Brunei-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level and IGCSE;
9. Brunei-Cambridge GCE 'O' Level and GCSE Special Education Award;
10. Pearson BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate;
11. Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (PSR);
12. Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (PSR) Special Education Award
The Student Excellence Award is one of the Ministry of Education's annual initiatives aimed at recognizing and appreciating students who have demonstrated academic excellence, particularly in public examinations, and as an encouragement to be more motivated in achieving excellence in the future. Through this award ceremony, the Ministry of Education also expresses its appreciation to parents and guardians for their continuous support and encouragement towards their children, while giving recognition to the school for the initiatives implemented throughout the year in achieving excellent results in public examinations.
Also present at the ceremony were the Permanent Secretaries, Ministry of Education; Vice Chancellors; Deputy Permanent Secretaries, Ministry of Education; Heads of Department and Senior Officers from the Ministry of Education; School Leaders as well as parents and guardians of the award recipients.

MAJLIS ANUGERAH PELAJAR CEMERLANG TAHUN 2024

TUNGKU – Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Jabatan Peperiksaan, Jabatan Pendidikan Swasta dan Jabatan Pendidikan Khas dengan kerjasama pihak Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) pada hari ini telah mengadakan Majlis Anugerah Pelajar Cemerlang Tahun 2024 bagi pelajar-pelajar yang mencapai kecemerlangan dalam Peperiksaan Brunei-Cambridge GCE Peringkat 'A'; International Baccalaureate (IB); Pearson Edexcel UK/GCE International Advanced Level; Brunei-Cambridge GCE Peringkat 'O' dan IGCSE; Pearson BTEC Level 2 dan Level 3 Extended Certificate; dan Penilaian Sekolah Rendah (PSR) bertempat di Dewan Canselor, Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat di majlis tersebut ialah Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Menteri Pendidikan, Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan ayat-ayat suci Al-Quran oleh Yang Mulia Awangku Luqman 'Amri Al-Hakeem bin Pengiran Asmali @ Pengiran Ali Shafie, pelajar Tahun 13 daripada Maktab Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah, diikuti dengan ucapan alu-aluan oleh Yang Mulia Awang Shahrizal bin Haji Emran, Pemangku Pengarah Peperiksaan, Jabatan Peperiksaan, Kementerian Pendidikan selaku Pengerusi Bersama Majlis. Majlis kemudiannya diteruskan dengan penyampaian anugerah kepada para pelajar yang disempurnakan oleh Tetamu Kehormat Majlis, dan diakhiri dengan bacaan Doa Selamat yang dipimpin oleh Yang Mulia Awang Muhammad Wafiy bin Awang Mohammad, Pegawai Hal Ehwal Masjid, Masjid Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Seramai 192 orang pelajar daripada sekolah rendah, menengah, maktab dan pusat tingkatan enam kerajaan, swasta dan antarabangsa di seluruh negara telah menerima anugerah mengikut kategori yang telah ditetapkan iaitu:

Anugerah Pelajar Cemerlang merupakan salah satu inisiatif tahunan Kementerian Pendidikan yang bertujuan untuk memberi pengiktirafan dan penghargaan kepada pelajar-pelajar yang menunjukkan kecemerlangan dalam bidang akademik khususnya di dalam peperiksaan awam dan sebagai dorongan serta galakan kepada pelajar-pelajar supaya lebih bersemangat untuk meraih kecemerlangan di masa hadapan. Melalui majlis penganugerahan ini, Kementerian Pendidikan turut memberikan penghargaan kepada ibu bapa dan penjaga atas sokongan dan dorongan yang berterusan kepada anak-anak mereka, di samping memberikan pengiktirafan kepada pihak sekolah atas inisiatif yang dilaksanakan sepanjang tahun dalam mencapai keputusan cemerlang di dalam peperiksaan awam.
Turut hadir di majlis tersebut ialah Setiausaha-Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pendidikan; Naib-Naib Canselor; Timbalan-Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap, Kementerian Pendidikan; Ketua-Ketua Jabatan dan Pegawai-Pegawai Kanan daripada Kementerian Pendidikan; Pemimpin-Pemimpin Sekolah serta ibu bapa dan penjaga pelajar-pelajar penerima anugerah.
