THE CHANCELLOR'S SCHOLAR, UNIVERSITI BRUNEI DARUSSALAM AND UTB'S SCHOLARS UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI BRUNEI 2025/2026 SIGNING AND AWARD CEREMONY

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – The Ministry of Education, through the Scholarship Management Department, today held a Signing Ceremony of the Agreement with the Government of His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, as well as an Award Ceremony for the Chancellor's Scholar Universiti Brunei Darussalam and the UTB's Scholars Universiti Teknologi Brunei for the 2025/2026 academic session. The event took place at the Auditorium Hall, Legislative Council Building.
Four outstanding students received The Chancellor's Scholar scholarships from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) to pursue their Master's and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees, while one student was awarded UTB's Scholars scholarship from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) to undertake a Doctor of Philosophy degree.
Present as the Guest of Honour to witness the signing of the agreement was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Minister of Education, Brunei Darussalam. Signing on behalf of UBD was Yang Mulia Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Vice-Chancellor of UBD, while signing on behalf of UTB was Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Profesor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Mulia Haji Raminey bin Haji Salleh, Chief Scholarship and Welfare Officer, Scholarship Management Department. This was followed by the signing of agreements by the scholarship recipients. It continued with the presentation of scholarship certificates by the Guest of Honor to the recipients of The Chancellor's Scholar scholarships from Universiti Brunei Darussalam and UTB's Scholars scholarship from Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
Also present at the ceremony were Yang Mulia Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education; Yang Mulia Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education; Heads of Departments; and officers from the Ministry of Education.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pengurusan Biasiswa pada hari ini telah mengadakan Majlis Menandatangani Perjanjian dengan Kerajaan Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan dan Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam, serta Majlis Penganugerahan bagi Skim Biasiswa The Chancellor's Scholar Universiti Brunei Darussalam dan Skim Biasiswa UTB's Scholars Universiti Teknologi Brunei bagi Sesi 2025/2026, yang berlangsung di Dewan Auditorium, Bangunan Majlis Mesyuarat Negara.
Seramai empat orang pelajar berjaya menerima biasiswa The Chancellor's Scholar Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) bagi melanjutkan pengajian di peringkat Ijazah Sarjana dan Ijazah Doktor Falsafah, manakala seorang pelajar menerima biasiswa UTB's Scholars Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) bagi Ijazah Doktor Falsafah.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat bagi menyaksikan penandatanganan perjanjian berkenaan ialah Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Menteri Pendidikan, Negara Brunei Darussalam. Menandatangani bagi pihak UBD ialah Yang Mulia Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle, Naib Canselor Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Manakala, bagi pihak UTB ialah Yang Mulia Datin Paduka Profesor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Naib Canselor Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah yang dipimpin oleh Yang Mulia Haji Raminey bin Haji Salleh, Ketua Pegawai Dermasiswa dan Kesejahteraan, Jabatan Pengurusan Biasiswa sebelum diteruskan dengan penandatanganan borang perjanjian bagi kesemua penerima anugerah biasiswa tersebut. Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil biasiswa oleh Tetamu Kehormat kepada penerima Skim Biasiswa The Chancellor's Scholar Universiti Brunei Darussalam dan Skim Biasiswa UTB's Scholars Universiti Teknologi Brunei.
Turut hadir pada majlis tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Setiausaha Tetap (Pengajian Tinggi), Kementerian Pendidikan; Yang Mulia Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Kementerian Pendidikan; Ketua-Ketua Jabatan dan pegawai-pegawai Kementerian Pendidikan.
