BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – The Ministry of Education, through the Department of Schools, has coordinated the participation of seven students and one teacher from Sekolah Menengah Muda Hashim, Tutong to take part in the Jenesys ASEAN-Japan Sport X SDGs Exchange for Youths. The eight-day program will be held from 27 October until 4 November 2025 at Tokyo and Fukushima, Japan.

Present at Brunei International Airport to bid farewell to the participants was Yang Mulia Awang Ali Hamdani bin Haji Md Diah, Acting Director of Schools, Department of Schools, Ministry of Education.

This programme aims to foster cooperation between Japan and ASEAN countries in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a joint initiative of the United Nations (UN) and its member states, using football as a platform for this support. In addition, the programme serves as a learning platform and provides an opportunity to showcase each country's culture, while focusing on socio-cultural exchange and strengthening the existing close ties and cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Japan.

During the visit, students, accompanied by their supervising teachers, will have the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the education system in schools as well as the football industry in Japan. They will also participate in learning sessions and activities alongside peers from 11 other ASEAN countries.

A total of 88 participants have registered to take part in this programme, which aims to provide students with exposure to the concept of 'independent living' abroad as part of efforts to strengthen the effectiveness of their learning experience. The programme further enables them to gain deeper insights into the collaborative efforts fostered by football clubs under the J.League and the Japan National Football Team in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, the students will have the opportunity to visit various places of interest, sports facilities, and historical sites in Japan to learn about the nation's rich history and culture.

Also present at the Brunei International Airport were officials from the Ministry of Education, representing the Department of Schools, as well as parents and family members of the students.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam melalui Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah telah menyelaras penyertaan bagi tujuh orang pelajar dan seorang guru dari Sekolah Menengah Muda Hashim, Tutong untuk menyertai Program Pertukaran Belia Jenesys Sukan ASEAN-Japan X SDGs. Program lapan hari tersebut akan diadakan pada 27 hingga 4 November 2025 di Tokyo dan Fukushima, Jepun.

Hadir di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei bagi mengucapkan selamat belayar kepada para peserta ialah Yang Mulia Awang Ali Hamdani bin Haji Md Diah, Pemangku Pengarah Sekolah-Sekolah, Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan.

Program ini bertujuan untuk memupuk kerjasama antara Jepun dan negara-negara ASEAN dalam menyokong Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs), iaitu inisiatif bersama Pertubuhan Bangsa-Bangsa Bersatu (PBB) dengan negara-negara ahlinya, melalui sukan bola sepak sebagai platform sokongan. Selain itu, program ini juga menjadi wadah pembelajaran serta peluang untuk memperkenalkan budaya masing-masing, di samping memfokuskan kepada pertukaran sosio-budaya dan memperkukuh hubungan erat serta kerjasama yang sedia terjalin antara Negara Brunei Darussalam dan Jepun.

Semasa lawatan tersebut, para pelajar bersama guru pembimbing akan berpeluang untuk meneliti dengan lebih dekat sistem pendidikan di sekolah serta sistem industri bola sepak di Jepun. Mereka juga akan berpeluang menyertai sesi pembelajaran dan aktiviti bersama rakan pelajar dari 11 buah negara ASEAN yang lain.

Seramai 88 orang peserta telah mendaftar bagi mengikuti program ini, yang bertujuan memberikan pendedahan kepada para pelajar tentang konsep 'hidup berdikari' di luar negara sebagai usaha memperkukuh keberkesanan pengalaman pembelajaran mereka. Program ini juga membolehkan mereka mendalami usaha sama yang telah dipupuk oleh setiap kelab bola sepak di J.League serta Pasukan Kebangsaan Bola Sepak Jepun dalam menyokong pencapaian Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (SDGs). Di samping itu, para pelajar turut berpeluang melawat tempat-tempat menarik, fasiliti sukan dan lokasi bersejarah di Jepun bagi mempelajari sejarah serta kebudayaan negara tersebut.

Turut hadir di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Brunei ialah pegawai-pegawai Kementerian Pendidikan dari Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, serta ibu bapa dan ahli keluarga pelajar.
