THE 58TH ASEAN SCHOOLS SPORTS COUNCIL (ASSC) MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING
FOR THE 14TH ASEAN SCHOOLS GAMES (ASG14) 2025

BERAKAS – The Ministry of Education, through the Department Co-Curriculum Education, convened the 58th ASEAN Schools Sports Council (ASSC) Management Committee Meeting for the 14th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG14) 2025, held at the Conference Room, Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
The meeting was attended by committee members and representatives from the 10 ASEAN member countries participating in the 14th ASEAN Schools Games 2025.
Present to deliver the welcoming remarks at the meeting was Yang Mulia Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education Brunei Darussalam as the Co-Chair of the 14th ASEAN Schools Games Working Committee, while the meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mr. Kingmano Phommahaxay, Deputy Minister of Education and Sports of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, in his capacity as President of the ASEAN Schools Sports Council (ASSC).
The meeting discussed the following key matters:
- Reception of the report on the preparations for the 15th ASEAN Schools Games 2026, presented by the Host Country, Indonesia.
- Confirmation of the Host Country Event Calendar for the ASEAN Schools Games for the period 2026–2030.
The ASSC was established in 1978, and one of its major undertakings is the organisation of the ASEAN Schools Games, first held in 2009 in Thailand.
Among the objectives of the ASSC are to:
- Foster closer cooperation among school students across ASEAN countries;
- Promote social development through collaborative efforts in the field of sports;
- Encourage more active cooperation and communication within the sports sector;
- Contribute towards peace and stability within the ASEAN region;
- Develop future elite athletes in the ASEAN region; and
- Support the policies of ASEAN member states in promoting healthy and active lifestyles through sports participation.

MESYUARAT PENGURUSAN MAJLIS SUKAN SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH ASEAN (ASSC) KALI KE-58
BAGI SUKAN SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH ASEAN KE-14, TAHUN 2025

BERAKAS - Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum pada hari ini telah mengadakan Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Pengurusan Majlis Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN (ASSC) Kali Ke-58 bagi Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-14 Tahun 2025, yang berlangsung di Bilik Persidangan, Stadium Negara Hassanal Bolkiah.
Mesyuarat ini dihadiri oleh wakil dan ahli jawatankuasa daripada 10 buah negara ASEAN yang menyertai Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-14 Tahun 2025.
Hadir untuk menyampaikan ucapan alu-aluan semasa mesyuarat tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Setiausaha Tetap (Pengajian Tinggi), Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam selaku Pengerusi Bersama Jawatankuasa Kerja Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-14 manakala mesyuarat telah dipengerusikan oleh Tuan Yang Terutama Mr. Kingmano Phommahaxay, Timbalan Menteri Pendidikan dan Sukan, Republik Demokratik Rakyat Lao selaku Presiden Majlis Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN (ASSC).
Mesyuarat berkenaan turut membincangkan perkara-perkara berikut:
- Menerima laporan mengenai Persediaan Kejohanan Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-15 Tahun 2026 oleh Tuan Rumah, Indonesia.
- Pengesahan Kalendar Acara Penentuan Tuan Rumah bagi Kejohanan Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN bagi tempoh tahun 2026-2030.
ASSC telah ditubuhkan pada tahun 1978, dan antara penganjuran terbesar di bawah naungannya ialah Kejohanan Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN, yang pertama kali dianjurkan pada tahun 2009 di Thailand.
Penubuhan ASSC bertujuan untuk:
- Memupuk kerjasama lebih erat dalam kalangan pelajar sekolah di negara-negara ASEAN;
- Memacu kemajuan sosial melalui jaringan kerjasama dalam bidang sukan;
- Menggalakkan kerjasama dan komunikasi yang lebih aktif dalam pembangunan sukan;
- Menyumbang kepada keamanan dan kestabilan rantau ASEAN;
- Melahirkan atlet elit masa hadapan di rantau ASEAN; dan
- Mendokong dasar negara anggota ASEAN ke arah pembentukan masyarakat yang sihat melalui penglibatan aktif dalam aktiviti sukan.
