OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY AND ARENA OPENING OF THE
PENCAK SILAT CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE 14TH ASEAN SCHOOLS GAMES (ASG14) 2025

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN – The Pencak Silat Championship for the 14th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG14) 2025 officially commenced today with an opening ceremony and arena-opening event held at the Riadah Hall, Youth Centre.
Present as the Guest of Honour to officiate the ceremony was Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr Mohamad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Corporate), Ministry of Education.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and the Doa Selamat, followed by the ceremonial Keris procession and the official opening of the ASG14 Pencak Silat Championship. The ceremony continued with the reading of the Pesilat Oath, led by Awang Md Azinuddin bin Md Azree, a student-athlete competing in the Men's 'C' Class Tanding category and Silver Medallist at ASG13, held in Vietnam in 2024, while the the Oath for Referees and International Judges was led by Awang Haji Asrul Bakhtiar bin Dato Paduka Haji Abu Bakar, Technical Referee and Judge.
During the ceremony, the contingents and technical officials were introduced to the Guest of Honour. The ceremony proceeded with the Opening of the Pencak Silat Arena, presented by Cikgu Haji Adanan bin Ahad, a retired coach from the Sports School. This presentation marked the official opening of the championship arena and the commencement of the scheduled events for the championship.
On the first day of the championship, three Pencak Silat categories were contested, including the International Tunggal category, the International Regu category, and the Tanding category. In total, eight teams are participating in the ASG14 Pencak Silat Championship this year. Among the teams taking part are Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Pencak Silat Championship will be held over a five-day period, from 22 to 26 November 2025, and will involve participating ASEAN student-athletes competing across a range of categories throughout the championship.

KEJOHANAN PENCAK SILAT BAGI SUKAN SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH ASEAN KE-14 (ASG14)

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN - Kejohanan Pencak Silat bagi Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-14 (ASG14) Tahun 2025 membuka tirainya hari ini dengan majlis pembukaan rasmi serta pembukaan gelanggang yang berlangsung di Dewan Riadah, Pusat Belia.
Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat bagi menyempurnakan majlis tersebut ialah Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr Mohamad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Pemangku Timbalan Setiausaha Tetap (Dasar dan Korporat), Kementerian Pendidikan.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Doa Selamat, diikuti dengan upacara perarakan keris dan perasmian perlawanan pencak silat ASG14. Majlis diteruskan dengan pembacaan Ikrar Pesilat yang dipimpin oleh Awang Md Azinuddin bin Md Azree, atlet-pelajar Tanding Kelas 'C' Lelaki dan Pemenang Pingat Perak ASG13 di Vietnam pada tahun 2024, manakala pembacaan Ikrar Wasit dan Juri Antarabangsa diketuai oleh Awang Haji Asrul Bakhtiar bin Dato Paduka Hj Abu Bakar, Teknikal Wasit Juri.
Semasa majlis tersebut, Tetamu Kehormat turut diperkenalkan kepada para kontinjen dan pegawai teknikal. Majlis diikuti lagi dengan Majlis Pembukaan Gelanggang Pencak Silat, yang dipersembahkan oleh Cikgu Haji Adanan bin Ahad, pesara jurulatih Sekolah Sukan. Persembahan ini menandakan pembukaan rasmi gelanggang Kejohanan serta permulaan acara-acara yang dijadualkan sepanjang Kejohanan.
Pada hari pembukaan ini, sebanyak 3 kategori kejohanan silat turut dipertandingkan, termasuk kategori Tunggal Antarabangsa, kategori Regu Antarabangsa dan kategori Tanding. Secara keseluruhan, sebanyak 8 buah pasukan menyertai Kejohanan Pencak Silat ASG14 pada tahun ini. Antara pasukan yang mengambil bahagian ialah Negara Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand dan Vietnam.
Kejohanan Pencak Silat ini akan berlangsung selama lima hari, bermula 22 hingga 26 November 2025, menyaksikan penyertaan para atlet-pelajar ASEAN bersaing dalam pelbagai kategori yang dipertandingkan sepanjang Kejohanan ini.
