OFFICIAL CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE 14TH ASEAN SCHOOLS GAMES (ASG14)

BERAKAS – The Ministry of Education, through the Co-Curriculum Education Department, held the Official Closing Ceremony of the 14th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG14) 2025 today at Dewan Munawwarah, Setia Point.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education, Brunei Darussalam, as the Chairperson of the Executive Committee for the 14th ASEAN Schools Games.
The ceremony commenced with the National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam, “Allah Peliharakan Sultan", followed by the ASEAN Theme Song, “The ASEAN Way". It proceeded with closing remarks delivered by Yang Mulia Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Permanent Secretary (Core Education), Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam as the Co-Chairperson of the Working Committee for the 14th ASEAN Schools Games.
The ceremony continued with the First Cultural Performance Segment:
- Tarian Kayum oh Ya Kayum
- Song performance of “The Climb"
- Tarian Umak Ruma
- Gulintangan performance of the ASEAN Medley
This was followed by the Official Closing Statement of the 14th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG14) by the Guest of Honour. The ceremony then proceeded with the Handover of the ASEAN Schools Sports Council (ASSC) Flag to Indonesia, as the host country of the 15th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG15) in 2026, accompanied by remarks from the ASG15 host country representative and the screening of a promotional video.
The event then showcased the Final Cultural Performance Segment:
- Joget Baju Putih
- Song performance of “Dreamer"
- Tarian Anding Dida and Joget Kapal Belayar
Both cultural segments featured combined performances by students from government and private primary and secondary schools in Brunei Darussalam.
The ceremony concluded with the screening of a Highlights Video showcasing key moments throughout the Games, followed by the ASG14 theme song performance.
This year's ASG14 gathered more than 900 student-athletes from 10 participating ASEAN member countries, competing across eight sports, namely Badminton, Basketball, Netball, Athletics, Sepak Takraw, Swimming, Pencak Silat and Wushu.
The official theme of this year's championship is “Dream, Strive, Achieve", which is adapted from Brunei's national proverb, “Bekarih, Bejarih, Belurih". This motto encourages student-athletes to pursue their aspirations through diligence, discipline, determination, and hard work.

MAJLIS PENUTUPAN RASMI SUKAN SEKOLAH-SEKOLAH ASEAN KE-14 (ASG14)

BERAKAS – Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum hari ini telah mengadakan Majlis Penutupan Rasmi Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-14 (ASG14) Tahun 2025, yang berlangsung di Dewan Munawwarah, Setia Point.
Hadir Selaku Tetamu Kehormat bagi majlis berkenaan ialah Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Menteri Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam, selaku Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Eksekutif Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-14.
Majlis dimulakan dengan nyanyian Lagu Kebangsaan Negara Brunei Darussalam “Allah Peliharakan Sultan" dan Lagu Tema ASEAN “The ASEAN Way", diikuti dengan ucapan penutup oleh Yang Mulia Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, Setiausaha Tetap (Pendidikan Teras), Kementerian Pendidikan Negara Brunei Darussalam selaku Pengerusi Bersama Jawatankuasa Kerja Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-14.
Majlis diteruskan dengan Segmen Persembahan Kebudayaan Pertama:
- Tarian Kayum oh Ya Kayum
- Nyanyian Lagu The Climb
- Tarian Umak Ruma
- Persembahan gulintangan bagi Medley ASEAN
Majlis diteruskan dengan Penyataan Penutupan Rasmi Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Kali Ke-14 (ASG14) yang disempurnakan oleh Tetamu Kehormat. Ini diikuti dengan Upacara Penyerahan Bendera Majlis Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN (ASSC) kepada Indonesia, selaku negara tuan rumah Sukan Sekolah-Sekolah ASEAN Ke-15 (ASG15) Tahun 2026, serta ucapan wakil negara tuan rumah ASG15 dan tayangan video promosi.
Majlis kemudian menampilkan Segmen Persembahan Kebudayaan Penutup:
- Joget Baju Putih
- Nyanyian Lagu Dreamer
- Tarian Anding Dida dan Joget Kapal Belayar
Kedua-dua segmen persembahan ini merupakan gabungan pelajar daripada sekolah-sekolah menengah dan rendah kerajaan serta swasta di Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Majlis ditutup dengan tayangan Video Sorotan yang menghimpunkan detik-detik utama sepanjang penganjuran kejohanan, sebelum diakhiri dengan nyanyian lagu tema ASG14.
ASG14 tahun ini menghimpunkan lebih daripada 900 atlet-pelajar dari penyertaan 10 buah negara ASEAN, yang telah bertanding dalam 8 acara sukan, iaitu Badminton, Bola Keranjang, Bola Jaring, Olahraga, Sepak Takraw, Renang, Pencak Silat dan Wushu.
Tema rasmi kejohanan pada tahun ini ialah “Dream, Strive, Achieve", yang diadaptasi daripada perambahan Brunei, “Bekarih, Bejarih, Belurih". Motto ini mengajak para atlet-pelajar untuk mencapai impian melalui usaha yang tekun dan berdisiplin serta semangat juang, dan kerja keras.
