BRUNEI DARUSSALAM STUDENTS ACHIEVE SUCCESS AT THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROJECT EXCELLENCE AWARD 2026 IN PHUKET, THAILAND

 

THAILAND – Brunei Darussalam continues to achieve success on the international stage as 2 schools from the country secured top honours and received awards at The 2nd International Student Project Excellence Award (ISP) 2026, organised by Prince of Songkla University. The competition was held on 7 May 2026 at the Royal Phuket City Hotel, Thailand. The participation of 6 students and 2 supervising teachers in the competition was coordinated by the Ministry of Education through the Science, Technology and Environment Partnership Centre (STEP Centre).

In the Social Science Category – Upper Primary Level, Sekolah Rendah Rataie emerged Champion through its project titled “KantinKu". The award was presented by Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Afifi Lateh, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prince of Songkla University, as the ceremony's chairperson. The school was represented by Nur Alya Syafiqah binti Ahmad Sufi, Nur Aliya binti Ali Sufian, and Muhamad Rafid Nur Aiman bin Ramli, and was accompanied by Cikgu Dayangku Noorhasyimah Nadrah @ Dayangku Arina binti Pengiran Ahmad, Education Officer from the school.

 

Meanwhile, in the Social Science Category – Upper Secondary Level, Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali secured Second Place (1st Runner-Up) with its project titled “From Paper to Platform: An AI-Enabled Learning Management System for Brunei Secondary Schools". The award was presented by Yang Mulia Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yotsawee Saifah, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University. The school was represented by Erene Nicole Anak Edanan, Nur Rifqah Athilah Azzyati binti Muhamad Zainin, and Nur Imanina@Rawiyah binti Aziz, and was accompanied by Cikgu Awang Muhammad Hasif bin Awang Nordin, Education Officer from the school.

 

Among the objectives of this competition is to encourage students from educational institutions worldwide to develop analytical skills, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving abilities through project-based learning in the fields of science and social sciences. The achievements attained not only bring pride to the respective schools but also enhance the international profile of the country, reflecting the excellence of the national education system, which is rooted in strong values, innovation, and the principles of 21st-century learning.

 

This achievement stands as a testament to the high level of commitment, creativity, and dedication demonstrated by the students, complemented by the continuous guidance and support of their teachers in elevating knowledge and educational innovation. It also underscores the determination of Brunei's educational institutions to nurture a generation that is knowledgeable, competitive, and capable of excelling on the global stage.

PELAJAR-PELAJAR BRUNEI DARUSSALAM MERAIH KEJAYAAN DALAM PERTANDINGAN

ANUGERAH KECEMERLANGAN PROJEK PELAJAR ANTARABANGSA KALI KE-2, 2026

DI PHUKET, THAILAND

 

THAILAND – Negara Brunei Darussalam terus mencatat kejayaan di persada antarabangsa apabila 2 buah sekolah dari negara ini berjaya meraih kemenangan serta menerima anugerah dalam Pertandingan Anugerah Kecemerlangan Projek Pelajar Antarabangsa Kali Ke-2, 2026 yang dianjurkan oleh Prince of Songkla University, pada 7 Mei 2026, bertempat di Royal Phuket City Hotel, Thailand. Penyertaan seramai 6 orang pelajar dan 2 orang guru pengawas untuk menyertai pertandingan berkenaan telah diselaras oleh Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Pusat Kerjasama Sains, Teknologi dan Alam Sekitar (Pusat STEP).

 

Bagi Kategori Sains Sosial – Peringkat Rendah Atas, Sekolah Rendah Rataie telah berjaya meraih gelaran Juara menerusi projek bertajuk "KantinKu". Anugerah berkenaan telah disampaikan oleh Yang Mulia Profesor Dr. Afifi Lateh, Dekan Fakulti Pendidikan, Prince of Songkla University, selaku pengerusi majlis. Sekolah Rendah Rataie diwakili oleh Nur Alya Syafiqah binti Ahmad Sufi, Nur Aliya binti Ali Sufian dan Muhamad Rafid Nur Aiman bin Ramli, serta diiringi oleh Cikgu Dayangku Noorhasyimah Nadrah @ Dayangku Arina binti Pengiran Ahmad, Pegawai Pendidikan dari sekolah berkenaan.

Antara objektif utama pertandingan ini ialah untuk menggalakkan pelajar daripada institusi pendidikan di seluruh dunia membangunkan kemahiran analitikal, pemikiran kritikal serta keupayaan menyelesaikan masalah secara kreatif melalui pelaksanaan projek dalam bidang sains dan sains sosial. Selain itu, kejayaan yang diraih ini bukan sahaja mengharumkan nama sekolah masing-masing, bahkan turut mengangkat imej negara di persada antarabangsa, sekali gus mencerminkan kecemerlangan sistem pendidikan negara yang berteraskan nilai murni, daya cipta serta prinsip pembelajaran abad ke-21.

 

Pencapaian ini juga menjadi bukti komitmen tinggi, kreativiti dan dedikasi yang ditunjukkan oleh para pelajar, di samping bimbingan serta sokongan berterusan daripada para guru dalam usaha memartabatkan ilmu dan inovasi pendidikan. Ia turut menyerlahkan tekad institusi pendidikan negara dalam melahirkan generasi berilmu, berdaya saing dan berpotensi untuk cemerlang di persada antarabangsa.
