REVIEW AND STRENGTHENING WORKSHOP OF STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES FOR THE MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS AT SCHOOL HANDBOOK 2026

BERAKAS – The Ministry of Education through the Counselling Division held the Review and Strengthening Workshop of Standard Operating Procedures for the Mental Health Crisis at School Handbook 2026 at the Main Hall, Ministry of Education. The workshop was conducted over two days, from 25 to 26 May 2026.


Over 30 stakeholders attended to ensure the success of this workshop. Among the participants from the Ministry of Education were officers and Superintendents from the Department of Schools, as well as officers from the Department of Educators Management, Department of Special Education, Department of Private Education, Department of Curriculum Development, and Department of Administration and Services.


Also participating in the workshop were representatives from the Ministry of Health, namely from the Department of Psychiatry Services, Health Promotion Centre, and Psychological Services Division; representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, namely from the Department of Islamic Studies, Maqasid Syariah Index Research Group, and Counselling and Religious Unit (KAFA); as well as representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, namely from the Department of Community Development. The workshop was also attended by representatives from the Prime Minister's Office, namely the State Mufti's Office and the Royal Brunei Police Force; Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI); Cyber Security Brunei, as well as representative from the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
Among the objectives of the workshop were to identify recurring issues or trends across various scenarios, utilise case scenarios to test the application of the Standard Operating Procedures in high-risk situations, and identify role-related issues, implementation challenges, discrepancies, and case reporting procedures in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures. The workshop also aimed to gather practical recommendations for improving the existing Standard Operating Procedures, as well as to determine the future direction of their implementation.
Through the publication of the Mental Health Crisis at School Handbook 2026, it is hoped that it will serve as a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures guideline for implementers, particularly school leaders and educators.

BENGKEL SEMAKAN DAN PENGUKUHAN PROSEDUR OPERASI STANDARD
BUKU PANDUAN KRISIS KESIHATAN MENTAL DI SEKOLAH

BERAKAS – Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Bahagian Kaunseling telah mengadakan Bengkel Semakan dan Pengurusan Prosedur Operasi Standard Buku Panduan Krisis Kesihatan Mental di Sekolah bertempat di Dewan Utama, Kementerian Pendidikan. Bengkel berkenaan berlangsung selama dua hari, bermula 25 hingga 26 Mei 2026.
Seramai lebih 30 orang peserta berkepentingan telah hadir bagi menjayakan bengkel ini. Antara peserta yang terlibat daripada Kementerian Pendidikan ialah pegawai-pegawai dan Superintendent dari Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, serta pegawai-pegawai dari Jabatan Pengurusan Pendidik, Jabatan Pendidikan Khas, Jabatan Pendidikan Swasta, Jabatan Perkembangan Kurikulum, serta Jabatan Pentadbiran dan Perkhidmatan-Perkhidmatan.
Turut menyertai bengkel ini ialah wakil-wakil daripada Kementerian Kesihatan, iaitu dari Jabatan Perkhidmatan Psikiatri, Bahagian Promosi Kesihatan, dan Bahagian Perkhidmatan Psikologis; wakil-wakil daripada Kementerian Hal Ehwal Ugama, iaitu dari Jabatan Pengajian Islam, Kumpulan Penyelidik Indeks Maqasid Syariah, dan Unit Kaunseling dan Kefahaman Agama (KAFA); serta wakil-wakil daripada Kementerian Kebudayaan, Belia dan Sukan, iaitu dari Jabatan Pembangunan Masyarakat. Bengkel ini turut dihadiri oleh wakil-wakil daripada Jabatan Perdana Menteri iaitu Jabatan Mufti Kerajaan dan Pasukan Polis Diraja Brunei; Autoriti Industri Teknologi Info-Komunikasi Brunei Darussalam (AITI); Siber Sekuriti Brunei serta wakil Persatuan Ibu Bapa dan Guru (PIBG).
Antara objektif bengkel berkenaan adalah untuk mengenal pasti isu atau trend yang berulang merentasi pelbagai senario, menggunakan senario kes untuk menguji aplikasi Prosedur Operasi Standard dalam situasi berisiko tinggi, serta mengenal pasti isu berkaitan peranan, cabaran pelaksanaan, ketidakselarasan dan tatacara pelaporan kes mengikut Prosedur Operasi Standard. Bengkel ini juga bertujuan mengumpulkan cadangan penambahbaikan yang praktikal terhadap Prosedur Operasi Standard sedia ada serta hala tuju pelaksanaan seterusnya.
Melalui penerbitan Buku Panduan Krisis Kesihatan Mental di Sekolah ini, adalah diharapkan ia akan dapat menjadi garis panduan Prosedur Operasi Standard yang komprehensif kepada para pelaksana khususnya para pemimpin sekolah dan pendidik.
