Yang Mulia Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Yusoff bin Haji Awang Ismail, Deputy Minister of Education, departed for Hanoi, yesterday to attend the 1st Joint-Working Group Meeting between the Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam and the Ministry of Education and Training of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The meeting commences today (2nd April 2015) until 3 April 2015 and will include discussion on a number of collaborative project proposals aimed to bring about mutual benefits to both countries. Potential areas of cooperation include projects on English Language, Mathematics, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, among others. During the working visit, the Deputy Minister of Education will also be visiting two educational institutions to learn, discuss and exchange ideas and experiences about the good practices that would help promote quality education and educational standards in both countries.
In addition to strengthening ties, this Joint-Working Group meeting is the outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding that was signed by both countries in Brunei Darussalam on the 9th of April 2014.
Dr Hj Junaidi bin Haji Abd Rahman, Permanent Secretary (Core Education); Dyg Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee, Senior Special Duties Officer and Head of Higher Education .and several officers from the Ministry of Education are among the Ministry’s delegates to Hanoi.
