UNDER THE STEERING COMMITTEE ON CLEANLINESS ISSUES

MUARA – The Ministry of Education this morning organised a Nationwide Beach Cleanliness Campaign For Marine Debris “Coastal Marvel" at the Muara Beach Recreation Park.

 

Present as the Guest of Honour to launch and participate in the campaign was Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Marina Chek binti Bujang, Director of Schools, Ministry of Education.

Participants were divided into groups according to the Sections, Units, and Clusters under the Department of Schools. Each group was assigned to clean specific beach areas according to the designated zones. The campaign, which involved approximately 230 officers and staff from the Department of Schools and their families, successfully collected 375.5 kilograms of litter.

 

The Nationwide Beach Cleanliness Campaign, launched on 5 June 2021, is an initiative by the Ministry of Education to support the Steering Committee on Cleanliness Issues (JIIK) in ensuring that the environment of Brunei Darussalam is clean and free from any pollution. It also aims to raise public awareness about cleanliness issues on the coast caused by marine debris.

 

Among the objectives of this campaign is to generate baseline data on marine debris in coastal areas and to identify the types of marine debris or waste found along the coast. Additionally, the campaign aims to empower the community to instil a sense of responsibility in protecting and preserving the environment through proper waste disposal methods.


The campaign today is the Ministry of Education's turn to conduct and was organised by the Department of Schools.​

KEMPEN KEBERSIHAN SENEGARA PERSISIRAN PANTAI

BAGI SERPIHAN LAUT “COASTAL MARVEL"

DI BAWAH JAWATANKUASA INDUK ISU-ISU KEBERSIHAN

Ahad, 27 Safar 1446 / 1 September 2024


MUARA – Kementerian Pendidikan pada pagi ini telah mengendalikan Kempen Kebersihan Senegara Persisiran Pantai Bagi Serpihan Laut “Coastal Marvel" bertempat di Taman Rekreasi Pantai Muara.

 

Hadir selaku Tetamu Kehormat bagi melancarkan dan menyertai kempen berkenaan ialah Yang Mulia Dayang Hajah Marina Chek binti Bujang, Pengarah Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan.

 

Para peserta telah dibahagikan kepada kumpulan mengikut Bahagian, Unit, dan Kluster di bawah Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah. Setiap kumpulan telah ditugaskan untuk membersihkan kawasan pantai tertentu mengikut zon yang telah ditetapkan. Kempen yang melibatkan kira-kira 230 orang warga Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah serta ahli keluarga mereka telah berjaya mengumpulkan 375.5 kilogram sampah sarap.

 

Kempen Kebersihan Senegara Persisiran Pantai yang dilancarkan pada 5 Jun 2021 ini merupakan usaha Kementerian Pendidikan dalam menyokong inisiatif Jawatankuasa Induk Isu-Isu Kebersihan (JIIK) dalam memastikan persekitaran Negara Brunei Darussalam adalah bersih dan bebas daripada sebarang pencemaran di samping meningkatkan kesedaran orang ramai mengenai isu kebersihan di persisiran pantai yang berpunca daripada serpihan laut atau marine debris.

 

Antara objektif kempen ini adalah untuk menghasilkan data garis asas atau baseline data bagi serpihan laut di kawasan persisiran pantai dan mengenal pasti jenis serpihan laut atau sisa buangan yang terdapat di persisiran pantai. Selain itu, objektif kempen ini adalah juga bagi memperkasa masyarakat untuk menanamkan rasa tanggungjawab dalam melindungi dan memelihara alam sekitar melalui kaedah pembuangan sampah yang betul.

Kempen hari ini merupakan giliran Kementerian Pendidikan yang dikendalikan oleh Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah.
