The Ministry of Education through the Department of Schools and the Department of Special Education held a Ceremony to Celebrate the Retirement of Officers and Staff of the Ministry of Education in the year 2019 to 2021 at the Royal Berkshire Hall, Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, Jerudong this afternoon.
Present as the guest of honour at the ceremony was Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education.
A total of 722 officers and staff who have served in the Ministry of Education have retired from 2019 to 2021, consisting of 214 officers and staff from Departments while 508 teachers and staff working in primary, secondary schools, colleges, sixth form centres, technical and higher education under the Ministry of Education.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Yang Mulia Pengiran Mohamad Sallehin bin Pengiran Tejuddin, Mosque Affairs Officer, Masjid Hassanal Bolkiah, Kampong Mentiri.
The ceremony continued with an appreciation speech by Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary (Higher Education), Ministry of Education and followed by a speech from Yang Mulia Dayang Marina Chek binti Bujang, Former Acting Director General of Education, Ministry of Education and Yang Mulia Awang Haji Ali Yusri bin Haji Abdul Ghafor, Former Head of Special Education Unit, Ministry of Education as the representatives of the retirees.
The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates and souvenirs to the retired officers and staff by the guest of honour.
Also present at the event were Vice Chancellor and Rector, Head of Departments, officers and staff from the Ministry of Education.

MAJLIS MERAIKAN PEGAWAI-PEGAWAI DAN KAKITANGAN KEMENTERIAN PENDIDIKAN YANG BERSARA PADA TAHUN 2019 HINGGA 2021
Kementerian Pendidikan melalui Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah dan Jabatan Pendidikan Khas telah mengadakan Majlis Meraikan Pegawai-Pegawai dan Kakitangan Kementerian Pendidikan yang bersara pada Tahun 2019 hingga 2021 di Royal Berkshire Hall, Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, Jerudong pada petang ini.
Hadir selaku tetamu kehormat di majlis tersebut ialah Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Menteri Pendidikan.
Seramai 722 orang pegawai dan kakitangan yang pernah berkhidmat di Kementerian Pendidikan telah bersara pada tahun 2019 hingga 2021, iaitu terdiri daripada 214 orang pegawai dan kakitangan dari Jabatan-Jabatan manakala 508 orang tenaga pengajar dan kakitangan yang bertugas di institusi rendah, menengah, maktab, pusat tingkatan enam dan teknikal serta pengajian tinggi di bawah Kementerian Pendidikan.
Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah dan Doa Selamat yang dipimpin oleh Yang Mulia Pengiran Mohamad Sallehin bin Pengiran Tejuddin, Pegawai Hal Ehwal Masjid, Masjid Hassanal Bolkiah, Kampong Mentiri.
Majlis diteruskan dengan ucapan penghargaan oleh Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Setiausaha Tetap (Pengajian Tinggi), Kementerian Pendidikan dan diikuti dengan ucapan dari wakil-wakil pesara iaitu Yang Mulia Dayang Marina Chek binti Bujang, Mantan Pemangku Ketua Pengarah Pendidikan, Kementerian Pendidikan dan Yang Mulia Awang Haji Ali Yusri bin Haji Abdul Ghafor, Mantan Ketua Unit Pendidikan Khas, Kementerian Pendidikan.
Acara kemuncak majlis ini adalah penyampaian sijil dan cenderamata kenang-kenangan kepada pegawai-pegawai dan kakitangan yang bersara oleh tetamu kehormat majlis.
Turut hadir di majlis tersebut ialah Naib Canselor dan Rektor, ketua-ketua jabatan, pegawai-pegawai dan kakitangan dari Kementerian Pendidikan.
