      The Science, Technology and Environment Partnership (STEP) Centre was established in 1999 as an important agency on behalf of Brunei Shell Oil Company Berhad in improving the development of Education, especially in the field of science and technology. 
         
 Since its establishment, STEP Centre has operated a number of Science, Technology and Environment programs, activities and competitions, nationally and internationally. Among the programs and competitions are Inforama, eXplomaths, KODU Competition, LEGO Mindstorms Workshop, TechKids Camp, Robotech Competition, Brunei Robotics Olympiad, Mathematics Olympiad, Science Olympiad, Brunei Society of Petroleum Engineering (SPE): Paper Contest, Brunei Environmental Youth Envoys and others. 
         
 However, in 2019, the Centre shifted its direction by restructuring in phases, introducing new STEAM and Environment related programs. Seven iconic programs were successfully developed and implemented since then. This approach aimed to make the Centre’s services and programs more structured, relevant and caters a wider range of student while fully managed under the STEP Centre’s leadership.

            Apart from the programs above, the STEP Center also coordinates external programs organized by local and international strategic partners aimed at competitions and student participation, among which are:
